During the weekend, the light-sailing Asturias Championship was held in Gijón waters for the Optimist and Laser 4.7 classes. The organization was in charge of the Real Club Astur de Regatas and the collaboration of the Federation of Sailing of the Principality of Asturias.

During the opening day, the three sleeves were held with excellent sea and wind conditions. The sea is practically flat and the wind is stable with an 8-kt North component at the beginning of the first sleeve and would reach 14 at the end of the day. On Sunday, however, the 3 sleeves planned could not be celebrated due to the temporary strength that hit the Gijonese coast with wind raches above 30 knots.

In the Laser 4.7 class the triumph was for Jacobo Fernández, who won no manga, but thanks to his regularity with two seconds and a third place in his locker was made with the Championship. The second position was obtained by Alicia Simal, first in the second test, and a third and fourth place were also recorded, and would end up at only one point in the first place. The third position was for, Fernando Alonso with a quarter a third and a second place.

A great deal of equality between the Optimist, where Gonzalo Jauderes was the best, with two first and a fourth place, followed by Covadonga Fernández who defended the title, would end up in second position in the three sleeves tied to points with Jauderes. For its part, Alvaro Alonso would close the class's honors with two third parties and one first in the closing sleeve.

The Optimist A would complete two tours with Jorge Sevillano at the head after winning the two sleeves, followed by, Carlota Cabrero with two seconds and, Julio Riba that would end in third place on both sleeves.
