The Jovellanos Centre, which is part of the Society of Salvation and Maritime Safety (Ministry of Fomento- General Directorate of the Merchant Navy), has 143,000 m²surface. It is located in the area of the Musel, in the city of Gijón, in the Principality of Asturias. Designed from a comprehensive service perspective, it is equipped with state-of-the-art means and facilities. It has a staff of highly qualified technicians and specialists who work in the thematic areas of safety, maritime and environment. The Jovellanos Center has ISO 9001 certification from the Det Norske Veritas (DNV). It has a training experience of over 20 years of which 89,900 students have benefited.

The courses are constant at the Jovellanos Center in Gijón.

Security courses

Diving, Maritime and offshore safety, Salvamento, HUET, BOSIET, Aircraft emergencies, Fire fighting, Dangerous goods, Rescue, LNG, Gas field, Fire in ships, Backdraft, Flash over, Rescue swimmer SAR, Marine formation STCW.

Maritime courses

Handling and navigation of the different types of ships, Trailers, Test Isf Marlins English language, Maritime traffic services, STCW maritime training and IMO model.

Environmental courses

The environmental disasters often caused by accidents are of great importance in ensuring that, through training, damage to life, property and the environment can be prevented or at least minimized.
