The Real Club Náutico de Valencia has celebrated this weekend the 59th Grand Trophy Valencia of Snipe class, which has brought together 35 crews from all over the national landscape, as well as from Italy, France and Argentina, in a test that has been the Autonomical Championship of this kind and can be tested for the national circuit, as well as being an excellent preparatory for the European Master Championship that is held in valid waters from 1 to 4 May and will have about a hundred crews from all over the continent.

The weather conditions have allowed the holding of five of the six tests planned throughout the weekend, with a wind that blew stable from the southeast with intensities of between 5 and 12 knots on Saturday and so of the east - northeast today Sunday, increasing throughout the day from 6 to 13 knots.

The Canaries Gustavo del Castillo and Rafael del Catillo have signed a brilliant performance, without falling from the second square except in the last test that has been discarded, which has given them the absolute victory in the race, taking home the title of champions, after starring in an interesting duel with the second classified, Damian Borras and Jordi Triay, of CN Mahon, current world masters of the class. Borrás and Triay take the silver in this trophy with only one point of difference with the winners, and with Agustín Zabalúa and Louis Moyan of the RCN Valencia, completing the podium.

26 / 04 / 2019: 50 snipes in the Grand Trophy Valencia that turns 59

50 snipes para una de las citas más legendarias de la clase en España

50 snipes for one of the most legendary quotes in the class in Spain

If there is a class linked to the Grand Trophy Valencia, that is the Snipe class, which has a long tradition in the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia, with athletes as emblematic as José María "El Nano" Belda, who at his 87 years of age continues to embark to compete. The Valencian club celebrates this weekend the 59th edition of the Grand Trophy Valencia de Snipe, which has gathered a fleet of 50 ships, in what will also be the Autonomical Championship and can be tested for the national classification circuit.

This edition of the Grand Trophy Valencia will also be an excellent preparatory event for the European and Spanish Master Championship of this class that will take place in the club from 1 to 4 May, with the presence of 100 units of this mythical class.

Maintaining the powerful social dimension of this class, after testing at sea participants will be able to enjoy ground animation, such as a Saturday night dinner and the delivery of trophies on Sunday afternoon.

In the list of participants of the race are names as well known as Angela Pumariega, Olympic champion in London 2012; or the couple formed by Damián Borras and Jordi Triay, who proclaimed themselves world champions class masters in June 2018. And of course the very same Nano Belda, who will again be made to sea in a Great Valencia Trophy.
