The Armas- Transmediterranean Group announces that for the next summer in the Balearic Islands, the new catamaran "Volcano de Tagoro" will be the star that in 2019 offers a new stage in high-speed shipping in the line Gandia- Ibiza-Palma, in which it will premiere from next June, from the moment of its arrival in Spain.

It will be the third "volcano" operating at the service of the new TransMediterranean in the Balearic archipelago, following the incorporation of the ferries "Volcano de Tinamar" to the line Barcelona- Mahón and "Volcano de Tijarafe," with which the line Gandia- Ibiza-Palma was inaugurated and in which it will be reinforced by the latest incorporation into the fleet of the first shipping group of Spain.

It is the most advanced high-speed ship worldwide, as it is one of the largest in its category that places the Spanish merchant Navy in the vanguard of Europe. A new-generation Incat catamaran with substantial performance improvements including higher speed, lower fuel consumption and better stability.

The new ship of the Armas- Trasmediterranean Group pays tribute to the most recent underwater volcano of Canarias, whose eruption occurred in the south of El Hierro between October 2011 and February 2012.

It is 111 meters long and has capacity for 1,184 passengers, of which 155 in business class and 16 crew, a garage in two decks for 215 cars and 595 linear meters for rolling load and a contractual speed of 35 knots for a dead weight of 600 tons... the price of the contract of its construction is 74 million euros... classified by DNV-GL, has a record of 10,800 tons gross and will be powered by four engines MAN 28 / 33D STC 20V, with a power of 9,100 kw each, which will operate equal number of water jets of the Finnish manufacturer Wärdés.
