The Spanish team prepares the European 2019 in Pau, the channel that will host the first international competition of the year

The Spanish slalon selection is preparing this week in France the first international competition of the 2019 season, which will be the European Championship to celebrate from 30 May to 2 June in the Gala city of Pau, the home town of the triple Olympic champion Tony Estanguet, president of the Organizing Committee of the Paris Games 2024.

The technical director of the Spanish Piragüismo Federation, Ekaitz Saies, who has moved to Pau to follow the work carried out by the national team, points out that the current objective is "to accumulate the highest number of hours and workload" to prepare a season that will be very hard, but also with great encouragement, including that Spain will host the World Championship that will be held next September at La Seu d'Urgell in Lleida, with the addition that it will be classified for the Tokyo JJOO.

Together with the European and World, the international calendar for the speciality of slalon includes five World Cups, the first three in June of Great Britain, Slovakia and Slovenia, the fourth in August in Germany and the final in Czech Republic.
