First act of the 6-meter Spanish Cup in Sanxenxo with 16 ships

"Bribon," for Spain, and "Seljm," for Portugal, leaders of the 6-metre Spanish Cup after the first series in Sanxenxo
With four trials held last weekend in the waters of Sanxenxo, the fleets of the divisions of Classic and Open opened the 2019 season of Class 6 Metros as an exceptional year prelude before the European and World Class in Sanxenxo in 2020 and 2021.
With a total of 16 ships registered between the two divisions representing four countries - Spain, the United Kingdom, Portugal and Finland - the winners of the last edition have started the season by dominating their respective classifications.
The "Bribon" of José Cusí, patronized on this occasion by Doña Elena de Borbón in the absence of King Don Juan Carlos, has again been the great dominator of the class with three first and a second place in the general classification, which denotes the excellent development of the ship that sails under the grympola of the Royal Nautical Club of Sanxenxo.
With eight points of difference with the "Bribon," the second position has been for the "Aida" by Juan Carlos Escotet and Francisco Botas, the latter's patron in this first series of the Spanish Cup. For its part, the reappeared "Titia" of Alicia Freire, patronised by Mauricio Sanchez-Bella and who had suffered a consideration approach at the 2018 European in La Trinité (France), has returned after several months of repair to the podium posts, reaching a magnificent third position just six points from the "Aida" of the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña- La Penela.
In 6 Meters Open, again Patrick Monteiro de Barros, with his "Seljm" and representing the Cascais Naval Clube, has been the strongest, getting three first and a second place that allowed him to take a six-point ride to the Finnish boat "Evelina" by Henrik Andersen. The Nordic team took the second place of the general, just one point ahead of the "Stela," who after his reappearance on the national circuit has already demonstrated its potential by overcoming the first test of this first series.
The next Spanish Cup test will be again in Sanxenxo and will be held on April 27 and 28... the classics and open classifications are respectively as follows:
1. Bribon (José Cusí), 1 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 5 points
2. Aida (Juan Carlos Escotet / Francisco Botas), 5 + 3 + 2 + 3 = 13
3. Titia (Alicia Freire), 6 + 6 + 5 + 2 = 191. Seljm (Patrick Monteiro de Barros), 2 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 5 points
2. Evelina (Henrik Andersen), 3 + 2 + 3 + 3 = 11
3. Stela (José Álvarez), 1 + 3 + 4 + 4 = 12
