The Spanish-manchego Paco Cubelos and the Spanish-Spanish Eva Barrios in K1 and the Galician Tono Campos in C1 have today proclaimed themselves senior winners in the 50th edition of the Spanish Winter Championship, whose competition has brought together more than a thousand palists in Seville this weekend, including Olympic medalists, world and European.

The Centro especializado de Alto Erencia de Remo y Piragüismo La Cartuja de Sevilla will host this weekend the 50 edition of the Spanish Winter Championship of Piragüismo in which 1,091 athletes from 112 clubs from all over the national territory will participate, representing 16 autonomous communities.
The Spanish Winter Championship will be held in K1 and C1 in the master, senior, sub23, junior and paracanoa categories, in both women and men. The competition will take place in morning and afternoon on Saturday and tomorrow on Sunday, on the distances of 2,000 meters against clock in classimatoriums, in which they get the pass the first 70 piragüistas, and 5,000 meters in the finals.
In the senior national, sub 23 and junior will participate a total of 712 pyragüistas, belonging to 112 clubs, of which 487 are men and 225 women, as well as 24 athletes in the paracanoa competition. In the master category, there will be 379 pyragüists from 108 clubs, of which 332 are men and 47 are women.
The participating communities are Andalusia, Valencia, Murcia, Asturias, Basque Country, Navarra, Madrid, Galicia, Extremadura, Catalonia, Castilla, La Mancha, Castilla y León, Cantabria, Canarias, Baleares and Aragon.
In senior female K1 the test will have a wide participation including the Zamoran Eva Barrios and Laura Pedruelo, second and third in 2018, respectively. In C1 he will again try to renew the title Maria Corbera, which until two years ago competed in K1.
In men, he highlights the presence in K1 of Roi Rodríguez, fifth in K1 1,000 in the World Championship in 2018; Javier Hernánz, bronze in the World Championship in 5,000 meters in 2018, and current champion of Spain; Francisco Cubelos, second in the World Championship in K2 1,000; and Iñigo Peña, third in the National Championship last year and subchampion of the world K2 1,000.
In C1 they will participate as most prominent piragüists Adrián Sieiro and Sergio Vallejo, finalists of the 2018 World Championship in C2 1,000; and Manuel Antonio Campos and Diego Romero, champion and subchampion in the National in the previous edition, respectively.
