New victory of the 49er Quironsalud Team, composed by Diego Botín and Iago López Marra, this time in the Portuguese waters of Vilamoura, with 5 points difference over the second classified

Four hard days with winds of more than 25 knots and a total of 11 sleeves, have been necessary for the health team to win in the Grand Prix of Portugal of 49er, at best of the international fleet with a total of 39 ships from all parts of the planet.

The first day had only two tests, which represented a real odyssey for the fleet as there were rachas of more than 25 knots, in which Botín and L.Marra "took out oil," with an 1-5 that meant to be located at the front of the classification.

On the second day as softer winds the health team did not get off the Top5 with 1-4-5 partial, being momentarily second after the Germans Schmidt-Boehme. The weekend was the take-off of the Spaniards who, after 4-1-4 on Saturday and 12 (disposable) 5, 4 today Sunday, returned to a leader who would not release until the end of the event.

Therefore the Grand Prix of Portugal ended with the victory of the Spanish couple with 34 points, followed by the British Petersburg-Stortt with 39 and closing the podium the Germans Schmidt-Boehme with 63.

This victory is a new "Top Ten" for the Spanish team, which is added between 2018 and 2019 to the Medal Race of the Hyeres World Cup, Medemblik, Kiel and Enoshima, the silver in the Miami World Cup, the oars in the Spanish Championship in Cadiz, the Vilagarcía Spanish Cup, European of Poland, the first phase of the Vilamoura Sailing and the Midwinter Regatta x 2.

The next meeting of the Quironsalud Team will be in Mallorca at the Arenal Training Camp, before the Princess Sofia Trophy from March 29 to April 6.
