The couple formed by Quique Urios and Filippo Binetti, with only one and a half years behind their backs in class 29, have proclaimed themselves winners in the international race MedSailing Eurocup that has concluded today at the Nàutic Club El Balís.

The Valencians have signed a great performance, especially in the last four sleeves, in which they have made four first and a second place, adding a total of ten points with which have been proclaimed champions with a point of advantage over the French Ariside Girou and Noah Chauvin, who have been second, with the Finns Ville Korhonen and Edvard Bremer, in third position.

The race has had the presence of 79 vessels from all over Europe, including some of the best athletes in this class. "In this race we measure the best in Europe, and it serves us to prepare for the next test, which is the Spanish Championship and for the European and World Championships that we will be fighting this summer", the couple commented during the competition.

La tercera jornada ha estado marcada por la ausencia total del viento, cumpliéndose así los pronósticos previstos

The third day has been marked by the total absence of the wind, thus fulfilling the forecast

The third day of the Medsailing Eurocup has gone blank. After two days with good wind conditions in El Balís, the Saturday day left the fleet on the ground without competing after the forecasts were met.

The Medsailing Eurocup for the 29th will therefore be decided on the last day in which the Valencian tandem 'Quicorras' Urios and Filippo Binetti (RCN Valencia) arrive leaders with 10 points, although its margin is very short on the second as the French Aristide Girou and Noah Chauvin occupy the second place at 1 point. The third provisional square is for the Finns Ville Korhonen and Edvard Bremer with 16 points.

Alicia Fras and María González del Nàutic Cambrils will defend the second place in female, but with the aim of overcoming the Italian Sofia and Marta Giunchiglia which is only 4 points away.

The second day of the Medsailing Eurocup could not be better for the Spaniards, especially for the Valencian tandem 'Quicorras' Urios and Filippo Binetti (RCN Valencia) who have been leading the fleet of 79 registered in the 29th class, the largest of those participating in the race organized by the CN El Balís.

With four tests completed under good wind conditions, with 13 knots the start of the day and ending in the 7 knots, always of Southwest component (SW) 'Quicorras' and Binetti have been perfect and have imposed their law on the waters of El Balís. Three partial triumphs and in the last test, when less wind intensity reached the race field, the Valencians achieved a second square worked.

These results, together with those produced in the rest of the international fleet and the two discards applied, lead the group with 10 points, although the French Aristide Girou and Noah Chauvin (4-1-16-13) remain in that second square at 1 point. The third provisional square is for the Finns Ville Korhonen and Edvard Bremer that has in their locker with 16 points.

In females there has also been good news for Spanish representatives. Alicia Fras and María González (CN Cambrils) conclude novies of the general and second in their category, raising a position with respect to the opening day. Well, the Catalan ones with 2-7-4, but... In the last Fras and González trial they were engaged in a BFD that deprived them of being above. They are left with 31 points only 4 of the leaders, with the Italian Sofia and Marta Giunchiglia.

The rest of the fleet is kept in the middle positions of the table, highlighting the baleares Marc Barber and Patrick Juan (CN Santa Eulalia) in the position 50 of the provisional general.

The Medsailing Eurocup, organized by the Nàutic El Balís Club and which started today ending next Sunday with the 29er, 420 and Europe fleets as protagonists has not been able to have better start, highlighting the very high level of participation of the 29er, with 79 registered from 13 countries, a whole record and which doubles the 420 that have 38 participants.

The other good news has been the wind conditions, with 11-14 knots that have allowed to complete the 4 test program for the 29er. The absolute domain of the French tandem Aristide Girou and Noah Chauvin in the Blue group in which they have signed three partial wins, while in the second test of the day they have managed to close their participation with a third place. With the discards applying, after the end of the fourth test, they leave the first day with 3 points.

The best Spanish crew on the table has been the Valencian one formed by the couple Enrique Urios Salinas and Filippo Benetti (RCN Valencia), competing in the group Amarillo and achieving partial of 4-2-3-9 and that after the discarding they remain in the seventh square of the general with 9 points, the same ones that have obtained the French Juliette Berthier and Marie Devoize, although their best numbers allow them to be in the eighth square.
