The Jacobeas sea routes of Galicia

The charter company Sailway and the Galician-Asnauga Nautical Association, join together and join in a joint project that promotes Jacobea maritime routes that, from different ports of the community, will have their starting point in a very different nautical adventure and full of stimuli.

The most international edition of the Forum del Camino - Fairway, these days in the capital of Galicia brings together companies and institutions from 15 countries, in a joint event to be held from 10 to 12 February. In this context, Sailway and Asnauga will present their joint proposal, the Xacobea Nautical Trip whose purpose is to obtain the Compostela for all pilgrims who, from the sea, catch one of the scheduled routes, after sailing 90 nautical miles (166.58 km.), making the last five kilometres to Santiago on foot on any of the traditional roads, such as French or Portuguese.

Sailway and Asnauga have in this initiative the support of the Galician nautical clubs that are part of one of the sea trips that go through all the Galician rias. To this end, both institutions propose routes that can be drawn from the waters of Ribadeo and Vigo.

In the first case the marine base are the Royal Nautical Club of Ribadeo, the Nautical Club Ria de Ares, the Nautical Club of Sada, the Real Nautical Club of La Coruña, the Nautical Club of Camariñas and the Real Nautical Club Portosin, with options to reach the Nautical Sports Club of Riveira and the Nautical Club of Boiro, the latter in Cabo de Cruz.

In the case of the Viguese ría, the operational ports are the Real Nautical Club of Vigo, Monte Real Club of Bayona Yates, Real Nautical Club of Rodeira, Club Nautico of Portonovo, Real Club Nautico of Sanxenxo, Club Nautico San Vicente do Mar and Club Nautico of Boiro, which also has the options of Riveira, Portosín and Marina Vilanova.
