The nautical market has recorded 196 boat registrations in January, -3.92% less than those recorded in January 2018... the largest decrease is recorded by ships up to 8 meters in length, while the ships of more than 8 meters grow in all their segments
The market for recreational craft in Spain starts the exercise with a decrease in the number of registered registration in January of -3.92%, a data that was tested according to the results of the financial year 2018 and in a month in which it is traditionally low season for the nautical... in total, in January 2019 there have been 196 registered in Spain, compared to 204 registered in the same month of 2018... of these, only 13 have correspond to vessels intended exclusively for commercial use of rental... are the data collected in the Market Report of recreational craft (January 2019), edited by the Directorate General of the Navy to the data of the Merchant.
The segment up to 8 metres, which accounts for 86.2% of the national nautical market, has 169 vessels compared to 182 in January 2018 (-7.14%). The rest of the length is growing this month, the ships between 8 and 12 meters (+ 18.2%); between 12 and 16 meters (+ 20%) and the larger length, from 16 meters, also grow by 100% (although they are the ones with the lowest market share).
By type of vessels, motor vessels are the only ones that grow (+ 17.7%) in January 2019 and maintain the largest share of the nautical market (47.4%). The water bikes fall by -15.6%, the folding pneumatic ones are kept in the same figure last year, the semi-rigid pneumatic ones also fall by -21.4%, and the candle experiences the greatest drop in the market with a fall of -36.4%.
The rental market also has a fall in the first month of the year, of -59.38%. Only the length between 6 and 8 meters are maintained with the same registrations as in January 2018 (4 units registered for rental use), the rest of the length falls.
By type of boat, motor boats for rental use are the only ones that grow in registration (+ 100%), in line with the data of the global market for recreational boats.
Andalusia with 25.50% of the market recovers the first position and has an increase in its enrolment in January of this year of 31.57%. The Balearic Islands, is the second Autonomous Community by market share with 15.31% and loses a -3.23% registration as compared to January 2018. Thirdly, by market share, Catalonia, with 13.23% and a decrease of -23.50% in the number of enrolments compared to the January data last year.
