Piragüism celebrated its annual gala

The Spanish Federation of Piragüismo celebrated this evening the 36 edition of its annual gala, in the course of which the president of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE), Alejandro Blanco, has said that this sport, after being the one that achieved best results in the JJOO of Rio, "has no limits and can still aspire to more" in Tokyo 2020, and has valued the results obtained by the Spanish palists in 2018, including the double achieved by the Spanish-Leonese Carlos Garrote, who has collected the David Cal Trophy to the best male sénioist.

The journalists Andrea Pelaez and Iñigo Torres have led the Gala in which, in addition to Carlos Garrote, the award for the best female senior palist has been held in the Galician Teresa Portela, gold in the Mediterranean Games and finalist in the World Championship, whose trophy has been collected in his name by the director of Sports of UCAM, Pablo Rosique.

The Talaveran Luis Brasero, responsible for the medalist ships in the World K1 200, K2 1,000, K4 1,000 and K1 5,000, has for the fourth time collected the Trophy José Montes to the best technician, and in the sub23 category have been proclaimed the best palists the Sage David Llorente - ausente - and the gipuzcoan Mira Lazkano, both champions of the world, and in júnior the Catalan Miquel Travé - also absent for being in Australia -, the double world champion in K1 and C1, and the Galician in the world's fourth category, in the world's member in the World.
