The "Fortune" changes its name to "City of Melilla"

Transmediterranean has today signed with the Autonomous City of Melilla the declaration of intentions for the accession of the shipping company to the programme of tourist bonds for non-residents, family and tourists. TransMediterranean will draw 25,000 notes at 26 euros to and from the seat and 55 euros in cabin accommodation, once the programme comes into force. Together with the president of Melilla, Juan José Imbroda, and the vice-president of Tourism, Javier Mateo, the head of the South Strait area of Transmediterranean, Carlos Labandeira, and the delegate of the shipping company, Pilar Rodríguez Guerra, have participated.

On the other hand, Trasmediterrana renombra "City of Melilla" to the ship "Fortune" that covers the line Melilla-Málaga and "City of Granada" to the ship "Sorolla" that connects Melilla-Almería. An action that continues with the company's commitment to recover the names of cities for the ships that are part of its fleet and that began recently by regaining the name "City of Palma" for the ship "Dimonians."

The change of name is made by taking advantage of the regulatory strands of both ships. The ship "Fortune" left the line on January 9 and will be incorporated in early February to its Melilla-Málaga line under the name "City of Melilla." For its part, the ship "Sorolla" will enter into regulatory strands in early February and will be reincorporated into its Melilla-Almería line in early March as "City of Granada."

The ship "City of Palma" is the ship that will replace both ships during their respective regulatory strands.

When they join the service, both ships will show the new corporate image of TransMediterranean. This vanguard identity, which was released last July, shows the company's modernity and tradition, two aspects that identify the shipping company today, through a new logo of red, grey and white colors. It is based on the historic foundational gallardete, which is a modern, dynamic sign, which also reminds of the sea stelae that open at the pass of a fast ship.

The "City of Melilla" and "City of Granada" ships can accommodate up to 1,250 passengers and have new facilities to offer the best experience to passengers. Among the renovated spaces are the Food Lounge (gastronomic space with various menus of the day, gluten-free products and children's menus where fresh and local products prevail), as well as the shop or the aft bar.
