New ocean race for Alex Pella: the Panerai Transat Classic that starts in Lanzarote

The test will cross the Atlantic Ocean from Lanzarote to the island of San Cristobal in the Caribbean Sea
The Spanish navigator Alex Pella participates in the fourth edition of the only race of classics that crosses the Atlantic, the Panerai Transat Classique, which has left today from Marina Lanzarote. "I have reembarked on a new ocean adventure, this time with wooden ships, on board the" Stiren "(O. Stephens, 1963)... is the first time I have been on a Transat on a" slow "boat and this changes my understanding of this type of navigation. I've been lucky enough to be able to cross the oceans at high speeds and now, for the first time, I do it with a slower classic ship. It's going to be a new experience for me and I'm very happy to be part of this crew," has secured Alex Pella moments before the departure.. This race involves classic ships that will cross the Atlantic Ocean from Lanzarote to the island of San Cristobal, in the Caribbean Sea... in total they will travel 3,000 nautical miles.
On February 23, 2018 Alex Pella achieved a new record, making the Tea Route in 36 days, 2 hours, 38 minutes and 2 seconds, exceeding the previous record in five days. This challenge was in addition to those already achieved in recent years. On November 16, 2017, Alex Pella managed to win the Transat Jacques Vabre, on board the "Arkema" tribe. This new victory was in addition to its most recent successes. In 2014, he won the victory on the mythical Rum Route and became the first Spanish to win a solo transoceanic test. And, on January 26, 2017, he beat the record of absolute speed back to the world by sailing, on board the sophisticated Maxi-Trimaran IDEC Sport. Alex, along with the rest of the team, made history, circling the planet in 40 days, 23 hours, 30 minutes and 30 seconds.
