José Ramón Pardo elected in A Coruña, regatist of the year at the annual dinner of the Nautico
José Ramón Pardo Galdo, was elected "regatist of the year," in the gala organized by the Real Club Náutico de La Coruña and attended by two hundred people, among whom were different local authorities and sponsors... the event was chaired by the club's owner, Fernando Cobián Varela, as well as the comandor and vocal of Vela, respectively Jorge Etchevarría and Guillermo Blanco.
Jose Ramón Pardo, a coach in addition to the School of Vela, was second in the European Laser Master Championship in 2018, ninth in the absolute European of Snipe, as well as a national circuit subchampion (with his partner Marcos Migez) and a Galician champion of this class.
In the section of mentions in national and international competitions, Paula Correa, the national and tenth champion in the Snipe world; Jaime Miranda, champion of the Spanish Cup master; Sofía Toro, national sub-champion in the "470" class; Miguel Fernández Vasco, Iberian champion of the "Finn" class; Jesús Pintos, third in the said competition; and Juan Cajade Frías, third in the Spanish absolute championship of "Snipe," eighth in the world master of this class and fifth in the European absolute.

The Comodoro del Club, Jorge Etchevarría, after the award of the awards, thanked the director of the School, Francisco Javier Pérez Lapuente (Chuco), for the number and quality of students from all over the province who spent this year through their facilities.
For Galician titles, they were awarded: Alba Díaz, champion Sub-13 in Optimist; Marta Tábara, champion in Laser 4.7; Irene Rodríguez, champion of Laser Radial; and Roberto Bermudez de Castro, champion of Laser Radial. Luis Molina was also recognized as the Galician champion of classical boats. Finally Guillermo Blanco, the current Vela del Club vocal, received his award as a Galician champion in the class J-80.
A metopa was previously given to the athletes of the "quarry" of the School of Vela who, by age, leave the Optimist class: Jaime Arangüena, Carlos González, Javier Escribano, Jaime Paramo, Juan García Tizón, Coca Delgado, Carmen Solórzano, Pablo García and Pablo Mijares.
