The Zamoran Garrote and the Pontevedresa Portela, as the senior palists, and the manchego Brasero, technician

The Zamoran Carlos Garrote and the Galician Teresa Portela have been chosen best senior palists of 2018, as agreed today by the Board of Directors of the Spanish Federation of Piragüismo, which has also highlighted the Spanish-manchego Luis Brasero as best technician, whose awards will be delivered in the National Gala of this sport, to be held on 2 February 2019 in the auditorium Alfredo Goyeneche of the Spanish Olympic Committee.

Garrote, the owner of three world medals and two European medals, achieved this season double by obtaining gold at the Esprint World Championship and in Europe's Championship at K1 200 meters, merits that make David Cal the best male palist the trophy.

Portela, which gathers 14 world medals and 17 in Europeans, was ranked eighth in K1 200 meters in the 2018 World Cup, will receive the Iberdrola Prize for the best senior woman.
The Talaveran Luis Brasero, responsible for the medalist ships at the World Cup K1 200, K2 1000, K4 1000 and K1 5000, will collect for the second consecutive year the José Montes Trophy to the best technician.

In the sub23 category, the best palists have been proclaimed the segovian David Llorente and the Basque Mira Lazkano, both champions of the world, and in júnior the Catalan Miquel Travé, double world champion in K1 and C1, and the Galician Carla Frieiro... has also been distinguished as the best referee the collegiate castellano-manchego Fernando Alonso, and in paracanoe man Juan Antonio Valle and Inés Felipe.

The special mention of the best team Trophy LaLiga4Sports is the national male selection of kayak polo, winner of the bronze medal in the 2018 World Cup; and the mention of Trophy Lotteries and Stateholders to Human Values to Agustí Cucululls, that of support private companies to Cadí and institutional support to the General Secretariat of l'Esports of the Generalitad of Catalonia.

The distinction to the media will be for the Basque Team Foundation, and the support is recognized for the sponsorship of Lotteries and State Bet, LaLiga4Sports, Iberdrola and Caliche as well as the institutions of Higher Sports Council, Spanish Olympic Committee, Spanish Paralympic Committee and Olympic Sports Association.
