Spanish Pyragüismo starts in Egypt the 2019 season achieving 6 medals in sub23 in the Nilo-Luxor International Regata

The Spanish pyragüismo has started the 2019 season by achieving six medals in the I Regata Internacional Nilo-Luxor, which has concluded today in Egypt, with five oros and one silver achieved by the palists sub23 of the national team: the Basque Aitor Gorrotxotegui, belonging to the team Santiagararark; the Catalan Pol Busquets, of Bañolas, and the Gallegos Iago Monteaguo, of the Naval of Pontevedra, and Luis Rodríguez, of Portonovo.

The gold fences correspond to the K1 500 ships manned by Pol Busquets; K2 500 and K2 200, in both with Luis Rodríguez and Aitor Gorrotxotegui; and the K4 500 and 200 formed by Busquets, Rodríguez, Gorrotxotegui and Monteaguado. The silver medal has been for the Galician Iago Monteagua in the K1 200 test.

The delegation of the Royal Spanish Federation of Piragüismo has been headed by the first vice president, Pedro Pablo Barrios, and the technical Fausto Moreno..."after receiving the invitation of the Egyptian Federation of Piragüismo, following a couple of concentrations this year in Seville, the president thought it appropriate to accept the proposal and send a group of sub23 palists to participate in the first edition of the Nilo-Luxor International Regata. Our goal is that these young athletes compete and live a different and attractive experience," has explained the extreme coach... the participation is mainly of African teams, and among Europeans are Sweden and Poland, which have taken part in the distances of 200 and 500 m in K1, K2 and K4.
