The nautical market has recorded 5,403 registration of recreational boats from January to November 2018, which represents an increase of 3.2% in the year's accumulated over the same period last year... November, however, it has dropped the registration of -7,8% (Photo Marina Isla Canela)

The market for recreational craft has grown by 3.19% from January to November this year, despite the fall of -7.8% recorded in November... a total of 189 enrolments compared to 205 in November 2017.

In total, 5,403 recreational boats have been registered in Spain compared to 5,236 in the same period 2017, of which 1,490 are for boats for rent (27.6%).

For the length, the most growing segment, 14%, is that of ships between 6 and 8 meters, followed by the length between 12 and 16 meters that increase their enrolment by 8.5% in this period. The most demanded recreational boats in Spain are still the ships up to 8 meters long which account for 89.2% of the nautical market.

By type of boat, the water bikes have grown the most in this period with an increase in their enrolment of 13%. The motor ships, with a growth of 0.1% in this period, remain the most demanding ships in Spain, account for 43% of the nautical market.

The nautical charter, the rental of recreational boats that represents 27.6% of the nautical market, maintain the cumulative decrease this year which is estimated at -6.23%.

For Autonomous Communities, Balearic Islands continues to lead the nautical market and the growth in number of enrolments, with a share of 20.36% of the market and a growth of 29.11% of its enrolments in this period. The following is Catalonia, which represents 18.72% of the nautical market, but falls by -17% in its enrolments. Thirdly, Andalusia continues with 17.8% of the market and a 10% growth in enrolment.

The charter market is also led by Balearic Islands, which is still growing and represents 29.06%, followed by Catalonia, with 20.27% of the market and the Valencia Community with a market share of 16.17%.
