Success of the Gala of the Annual Sailing of the Royal Astur Club of Gijón Regates

Then, as a colophone to the extensive season of races, the annual dinner took place, which was attended by an extensive representation of the Asturian fleet, both of light sail and of cruise (Photo Felix G.Muñiz)
The Real Club Astur de Regatas de Gijón, held last Friday the Gala de la Vela Anual, in which a large part of the trophies played during the year were delivered, including: the Spring, Summer and Autumn of Light and Cruise Sailing, the Asturias Championships of Optimiss, Laser Radial and Snipe, the Prize for Regularity and the Asturias Championship of Vela Radio Control.
All of these tests organized by the Gijón Regatas Club during this season and that have been in many hours of competition, both in light sailing and in cruise sailing. The president of the Regatas Club, Alfredo Alegría congratulated the winners and encouraged all the regatists who met at the gala to continue sailing and competing next year.
Luis Díaz was the winner of the Laser Radial Asturias Championship, Carlos Ordoñez and Leticia Pelayo were the best among the Snipes. Covadonga Fernández in the Optimist class, Jacobo Fernández in Laser 4.7 and Guillermo Marqués and Francisco Prendes in Snipe took the first places in the Spring Trophy.
Covadonga Fernández repeated triumph in the Summer Trophy, in 4.7 Fernando Alonso was the best, while among the Snipes the triumph was obtained by José Palacio and Alberto Suárez. Again Covadonga Fernández in Optimist and José Palacio and Alberto Suárez in Snipe won the Autumn Trophy. Jorge Fernández revalidated his title at the MicroMagic regional.
In the Cruise class the Taxus MedioAmbiente, by Alfredo Flórez took the Spring Trophy in Class I and the Espumeru, by Daniel Ponte in Cruise II. While, in the Fall Trophy, the Bullbox, by Luis Noguera was made with the triumph in group I and the Ita II, by Pedro Guerra did the same in the II. The Trophy to regularity was on this occasion for the Mambo, by José Enrique García.
