Bruno Ameneiro receives from Aurelio Fernández Lage's widow the great trophy of absolute winner

The fifth edition of the Trophy Aurelio Fernández Lage de optimist, ended in the Coruñesa bay with rachas of up to 30 knots which tested the regatists of the Optimist gold group. On this day by the technical committee it was decided that the regatists of the school group and the silver group would not go out to sail in the face of the weather conditions that were envisaged. The 65 athletes from the gold group who were able to drown two races, but the third one was not carried out by the wind.

In the gold group, where the best Galician "optimistic" were, he again demonstrated his power Bruno Ameneiro, and he triumphed in three of the five trials held and finished with 6 points. Six more had his partner from the Nautico de Sanxenxo, Pablo Lorenzo, who won a first place on Saturday day. The third place in the general of this group was for Adriana Pérez Canal, with 15 points and three third, which belongs to the Maritime of Canido. Notable was the performance of the Coruñés Carlos Bermudez de Castro, of the organizing club the Nautico de A Coruña, which achieved the sixth square with two seconds.

The silver group did not leave by the force of the wind and so the final classification is that of the Saturday day. With two races held the winner is Rodrigo Pérez Moya, from the Maritime of Canido; second, from the Grpo Bazán de Ferrol, Mariano Torres Gestar; and third, Roque Tourón, from the Nautico de Vigo

The young regatists of the Coruñés Nautical School group, on Sunday they were also not able to go sailing for what is worth the Saturday classification in which four races were held. So Joan Pérez is the first. The second position is for Ana Mallo, and third Marta Hurtado, respectively with 7, 8 and 9 points, which demonstrates the competitiveness of these sailing promises. In this group they sailed 23 regatists (10 boys and 13 girls).

For children under 13, there were also prizes and a special classification. The winner was Alba Díaz Martínez of the Nautico de A Coruña (also eighth classified in the general of the gold class); Second, Andrés Barreiro Fernández of the Maritimo de Canido; and third Fernando Núñez Talín of the Nautico Coruñés. To highlight that more than 15 young people from all over Galicia participated in this edition.

The Regatta in honor of Lolo Fernández Lage, the most emblematic president of the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña in recent decades... a gentleman who earned friendship and sympathy beyond our borders

150 young people, boys and girls, from all over Galicia will be fighting this weekend in the Coruñesa Bay the V Trophy Aurelio Fernández Lage of the "Optimist" class. This is the last competition of the year that organizes the Nautico de La Coruña and will be a great show of the candle.

The participants come from the Monte Real Club de Yates de Baiona, Real Club Náutico Rodeira de Cangas do Morrazo, Náutico de Sanxenxo, Marítimo de Canido, Grupo Bazán de Ferrol, Real Club de Mar de Aguete, Real Club Náutico de Vigo, Club Marítimo de Oza El Puntal and the Real Club Náutico de La Coruña... the young regatists will participate according to categories, gold, silver and school.

The organizing committee has planned 6 tests and the competition will start this Saturday, from 2: 00 in the afternoon. The Sunday tests will start at 11: 00 in the morning to celebrate the award delivery around 5: 00 in the afternoon.
