The light candle fired the season at the Abra Maritime with Christmas Trophy
The light candle completed its 2018 calendar in the peach waters of the Abra with the classic Christmas Trophy. The young regatists of the School of Vela José Luis de Ugarte said goodbye to the season with this test, organized by the Real Club Marítimo del Abra-Real Sporting Club, which was developed with more than half a hundred boats in the Optimist, 420, FEVA and laser classes.
After the tests, in the FEVA class, Nerea Álvarez and Arantxa Sellhorn were defeated, tied to five points with Alba Ortega and Telma Aja; Peru and Joana Abaalone were imposed in the 420 class; Ignacio Aja in Laser Radial, with Martin Bueno also with 5 points; Tanis Rey Baltar, with three first positions, took the trophy in Laser 4.7; and Arrieta Angueira ended up as leader in Optimist I and Sofia Alonso in Optimist II.
Following this competition, the awards of the different local light sailing championships, held during a further season in El Saltillo of the Real Club Marítimo del Abra- Real Sporting Club, were also known to have been for Nerea Alvarez, and for Carmen Arbaiza the "pitiful" race team of the school.

The races of this Christmas 2018 light candle Trophy will start at noon. The committee plans to hold three tours on each day on Saturday and Sunday. Last year's Christmas Trophy winners were Nicolás Viar in the Laser Radial class - winner in the last two years - Cristina Terry and Nerea Alvarez in the FEVA class; Carmen Gomeza and Laura Rodrigo in the 420 class; and Arrieta Angueira and Daniela Voss in Optimist.
