Villaverde wins the presidency of the Galician de Vela for "opening up" of its rivals

61-year-old Villaverde Fernández Vigués arrived at the Galician in 2001 with José Ángel Rodríguez as president, when he held the Spanish Presidency in December 2012, Villaverde, who was vice president, took over the reins of the autonomous federation and presented himself to the 2014 elections, in which he won another candidate in the polls.
Manuel Villaverde is the only candidate who has run for the Royal Galician Federation of Vela for the period 2018- 2022, at this point in an electoral process that started on February 28 with the publication of the initial census and which on September 3 led to the call for elections.
The Electoral Board has noted this as well as the presentation of Pedro de Luaces, Fernando Giraldo, Sergio del Río and the entities Monte Real Club de Yates, Real Club Náutico Portosín and Real Club Náutico de Sanxenxo as members of the Commission Delegate, "not exceeding the number of candidates to the number of members of the Delegated Commission"as explained in the minutes. A period of three days (from 28 to 30) is now opened for possible claims, as required by the electoral calendar itself, which is visa by the Xeral Secretariat for or Sport. The Electoral Board has received and accepted all these nominations, proclaiming Villaverde as the only candidate on an interim basis.
The final proclamation as a candidate is set for 14 December, and on Friday 28 December the president of the RFGV will be definitively proclaimed until December 2022.
