The regatists of Club Nàutic S'Arenal copy the podium in both optimal and windsurfing

The world's bicampeona Maria Perelló has been declared the champion of the Balearic Islands in the Balearic Championship of Optimist and Windsurf held this weekend in Ciutadella, Menorca, in which a total of 108 regatists (80 in the Optimist class and 28 in Windsurf) have participated. While Pau Mesquida has proclaimed himself the male champion of Optimist sub16.

The championship has been held with very different weather conditions between the two days of competition, as if on Saturday the regatists met with little wind, and today they have sailed with a lot of wind, reaching up to 22 knots, and a strong wave.

In the optimal class, the first position has been led by María Perelló, followed by the CNA Regatists Pau Mesquida and Ian Walker, who in turn have placed themselves in the first and second male position sub 16. In addition, the sixth position of Marc Mesquida is also noteworthy in the male category.

For its part, in the female category sub 16, the champion of Baleares has been followed by the regatists of the CNA Marta Cardona and Aina Garau, in second and third positions respectively.

It is also worth noting the participation of Amalia Coll, who has been the only regatist of the islands to get a place for the Baleares championship which places her in the first position sub 11 female.

Josep Estray has proclaimed himself the champion of the Balearic Islands of Techno sub 17, followed by his teammates Xicu Ferrer and Bernat Tomas, all of them regatists of the CNA. While Naiara Fernández is a female Baleares champion followed by Andrea Torres and Zoe Fernández, all of them from the CNA.

Finally, in the category Techno Sub 15, Sergi Lafuente, regatist of the Arenal Nautical Club has achieved second position, Xim Rodríguez the seventh position and Juan Martínez in the ninth.
