During the last day of the California World Youth you could see at the Huntington Beach Pier: the finals of the main picture, the refishing box and the Grand Final of all categories Sub-18 and Sub-16 of boys and girls.

After nine intense days of competition, the top six in each category were disputed the medals and final positions of their respective selections under conditions that improved with respect to the Saturday day.

The first elimination of the day was the presence of the Canadian surfer only 14 years old, Lucía Machado. A few minutes after he started he showed his talent by surpassing a very good wave valued at 7.50 points. Lucia, wanted to shut her down as soon as possible, and shortly later with a wave of 4.83 points, assured her classification for the Grand Finale, exceeding the Hawaiian Luana Silva and the Japanese Sara Wakita and Shino Matsuda.

Just half an hour later, the shift was for Nadia Erostarbe. The gipuzcoana had a very complicated elimination that faced German Rachel Presti, Japanese Minami Nonaka and Hawaiian Summer Macedo. Nadia started with a good wave that left her a score of 5.60 points and after looking for a second wave to improve her position she did not get the direct pass to the big final. On his second chance, Nadia remained a few points from the pass reaching an excellent sixth position.

At the end of the day the great finals were held, again the first of them was the one that Lucía Machado disputed in Sub 16. On this occasion, the Canary Islands faced American Caitlin Simmers and Japanese Sara Wakita and Shino Matsuda. In an American surfing demonstration from the first minutes of the final, Lucia fought until the last second and got the fourth position and the corresponding copper medal.
