Abanca Week in Sada: Victory of "Solventis" in the Terra Guda Regata with winds of 56 knots
The Grand Soleil 46 "Solventis" of the Mount Real Club of Yates of Baiona, with Malalo Bermudez of Castro to the cane was proclaimed yesterday afternoon the absolute winner of a Regata Terras Guda that will pass into history for having endured in its last day winds of more than 56 knots (about 104 km per hour). In which it was the fifth cycle of the Abanca Week the fleet held the unspeakable on a day for autumn and winter moments. In the other categories, "Alma do Mar" of Nito Enriquez (minor length ORC cruises), "Delfyna" of Eduardo Gomez (two crew cruises) and "Nostromo" of Enrique Tostado (open cruises) were imposed. After the end of the Terras Guda Regata, the Abanca Week changes the stage to return to the south of Galicia, to the river of Pontevedra and Marín, where next weekend will take place the Spanish Yolas Championship, in which will participate mobile bank boats of half of Spain, with communities of the interior, case of Aragón and Navarra, among others.
Despite the fears on Sunday morning in Sada was at the start of the second manga of the Regata Terras Guda very peaceful with sun, the sea as a dish and about ten knots of wind from the north... but it was a mirage of what would happen from the equator of 12 miles between Sada and Ares, with a repetition... because first the wind reached 30 knots and then with a roll to the north-east passed from the 50's, with the entire fleet in competition. Nothing happened, which came to prove the excellent preparation of all the crews... because the intensity of the wind's grabs, at least imposed respect.
The struggle between the great came between "Mirfak" who chose to stick to the Sada hatch in the beginning, and "Solventis" who made the opposite board, probably bound by its approach to the judges' ship (who had to enter towed in the port of Sada, being replaced) with the loss of time that it meant. The speed of the Baiona ship armed by Pablo and Alberto Moro was impressive in the second part of the manga on Sunday, to the point that he managed to beat those of Diego López in more than four minutes in compensated time, after winning in real time with a chrono of 02.07.38.
In the third square "Mambo" that with the vigués Carlos Sampedro to the cane became spectator of the struggle of the two colossus, being the fourth square for the ship of the Luzense of José María Peinado: the "Clinicas Gaias," completing the top five of the class, the pontevedrés "X-Grog" of San Vicente do Mar de O Grove.
In those of the minor excellent length "Alma do Mar" of Nito Enriquez who was the best, occupying the second square "Mascato" with Jorge Etcheverría to the cane that took the silver to "Zospiro" by Guillermo Blanco, which had to be content with bronze, also from the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña. The category "A Dos" had in "Delfyna" by Eduardo Gómez to his winner, who managed to relegate the great favorite, to "O Rías" by Ramón Carnota that had to conform to the second square, while "No Problem" was made with the third. He closed the honor painting, Enrique Tostado with "Nostromo" of the Nautical Club of Sada, which was in the open category of cruises.

The Farr 40 of the Naval Commission of Ferrol Regates, sponsored by Diego López, is the provisional leader of the Regata Terras Gaudas de Cruises ORC, organized by the Nautical Club of Sada, is part of the Abanca Week. The departmental ship was surprised by its speed and its substantial advantage over its major rivals: the "Solventis" of the Mount Real Club of Yates of Baiona, the "Mambo" of the Coruñés Club Marítimo La Penela and the "Clinicas Gaias," of the spectacular U47 of the Xacobeo Nautico Club of Portomarín. For the second day Sunday from 12: 00 in the morning, the closing ceremony is set for 6: 00 in the afternoon, at the Nautical Club of Sada.
The opening day was particularly hard with winds of just over 20 knots of northern component, which accompanied by a sunny afternoon would go down to 15 at a time, causing a spectacular race of about 12 miles between Sada and Ares (twice), which was beginning with British punctuality. The struggle from the first moments crystallized between the "Solventis" of Baiona and the "Mirfak" of Ferrol, with a clear advantage for those of Diego López who achieved a compensated chrono of 02-06-16... those of Mount Real were the first to cross the line of arrival, but their time was only the time to achieve provisional silver, relegating to the bronze "Mambo" with the vigues Carlos Sampedro to the cane, and those of José María Peinado with "Gaias" for the fourth place.
In the class of minor length of the cruises, first place for the "Alma do Mar" of Nito Enriquez del Náutico de Sada, being the four following places for ships of the Real Club Náutico de La Coruña: "Zospiro," "Mascato," "Carpancho V" and "Villano," while in the category of two crew members, the "O Riás" of Ramón Carnota del Náutico de La Coruña, "followed by ships of Sada and Ares," "Díl," "and" El Adeem, "On Sunday, we are concerned about the news that there will be very strong winds, with the threat that the authorities will stop the sports activity... however and despite this, the regatists are waiting and wishing that this weather threat will not be realized and that the second day of this Regata Terras Gauda, which is gradually becoming one of the classic of the heavy sailing of northern Galicia, by the hand of the Abanca Week, can be celebrated.
