The Week of the Atlantic City of Vigo is moved this Friday to Viana do Castelo to play the first of the two events of its international competition of optimist, as since 2014, in competition 270 regatists from eight countries and three continents in a championship that because of its growing importance goes from two to three days when it becomes Meeting International to satisfy the Vela Viana do Castelo Clube, its organizer, and the Real Club Náutico de Vigo, general organizer of the Week.

The V Cidade Trophy of Viana, presented yesterday at the Municipal Chamber of Viana, puts into play six titles, three male and three female, in Division A (born from 2003 to 2005), Division B (2006 and 2007) and C (born from 2008), but also scores for the absolute winners (A-B and C) of Week 2018, which add to these races their results of the Meeting International Cidade of Vigo, in November.

The entire fleet that competes in Viana from this Friday at 12: 30 (Portuguese time) will be quoted the following week at the Ria de Vigo. The best fleet in the Mediterranean and the Cantabrian will be joined by these regatists from eight countries (Mozambique, India, Portugal, Spain, Latvia, Norway, Malta and Belgium), as well as by regatists from Great Britain and Ireland to reach the ten countries in the region. The International Meeting of Vigo Cidade from Optimist, from 2 to 4 November, will put the point and end to the three cycles of Atlantic Week.
