The Club Nàutic Cambrils has hosted the XLII Regata Los Roques - Grand Prix Protego Championship of Catalonia RI - RANC Trophy this weekend. Despite the incident on Saturday, in which the Mondelona I boat had to leave because of a problem in the hull that caused it to end up sinking without having to regret personal damage, the race was celebrated quite normally and was a success of participation with 17 ships coming from all over Catalonia.
The traditional Saturday journey led the crews to the Tortosa Lighthouse with wind from the East East reaching the destination in record time. The first ship returned to Cambrils at 5.15 p.m. and the last at 8 p.m.
The little wind of yesterday Sunday did not finally prevent the crews from going out to sea and could fight the second day of the race that ended with a first position for the boat Arosa XI, by Fernando García of the Nautical Hospitalet- Vandelòs Club that turned out to be the winner of the competition.
The organization also awarded the first five participating teams. Thus the second position was for the boat Moana de Lluis Jordi Panadés, of Club Nàutic Cambrils and completed the podium the boat Miriapdo, of Lluis Romeo Vallejo of the Real Club Nautico of Barcelona.
Also awarded were the reduced crews (with only two crew members) of the Salao Tu, Manuel López of the Nautico Salou Club and fifth the Ester of Eduardo de las Heras, of the Nautico Club Tarragona.
