New success of Spanish Pyragüism

The Spanish Pyragüismo has today obtained five medals in the open-competition program - open to all categories - of the III European Championship of Sea Kayak, which was held this weekend in the Alicantina town of Villajoyosa, where the national team has obtained six other preseas in the official program with the participation of 180 athletes from ten countries.

The Spanish medallists today in the open mode, with a 20 km tour on the coast between Villajoyosa and El Campello, have been in SS2 mixed the couple formed by the Asturian established in Ibiza Daniel Sánchez Viloria and the Basque Begoña Lazkano, who have been third with a time of 1 hour, 11 minutes and 13 seconds, imposing the esprint on the French boat.

In master men Mikel Lauzirika has finished in second position with a record of 1 hour, 15 minutes and 39 seconds. The canary Esteban Medina has today achieved the gold medal, the Catalan Judith Verges the silver and the Amaia Osaba the bronze Navarre in the senior category in the European Championship of Piragüismo of kayak of the sea, which is disputed this weekend in the Alicantine town of Villajoyosa, where the Spanish selection already amounts to a total of 6 medals by reaching a podium in sub23 and two others in júnior.

The canary Esteban Medina has proclaimed himself the champion of Europe by imposing himself on the male supreme test with a time of 1 hour, 25 minutes and 37 seconds in a very competitive test, in which the Spanish has starred in a series that has succeeded in winning the final triumph to the esprint.
