Yacht enrollments increased by more than 4 points until September according to ANEN

The charter market is also led by Balearic Islands, which represents 28.8%, followed by Catalonia 22.5% and the Valencia Community with a market share of 16.6%
In the new months of 2018, 5,021 recreational boats have been registered in Spain, 4.1% more than in the same period last year.
The charter market (rental of recreational boats) is stabilized and although it has a -5.1% registration rate in this period, it accounts for almost 29% of the total registration rate until September.
Balearic Islands, Catalonia and Andalusia lead the national nautical market until July. In the charter market, Balearic Islands, Catalonia and the Valencian Community are the first positions.
The average growth in the market for recreational craft in Spain is maintained, as of the year. Enrolments have grown by 4.1% in the nine months after 2018. In total, 5,021 recreational vessels have been registered in Spain compared to 4,825 in the same period of 2017, of which 1,441 are for commercial use (nautical charter), which represent 28.7% of the national nautical market.
In terms of length, the most growing segments this year are still the ships between 6 and 8 meters and between 12 and 16 meters, which increase their enrolment in this period by 14.7% and 9.2%, respectively. The smaller length, up to 8 metres, remains the most demanding and represents 89.5% of the nautical market.
By type of boat, the water bikes have grown most in this period with an increase in their enrolment of 14.4%, followed by the folding pneumatic (4.9%). Motor ships remain the most demanding boats in Spain, accounting for 42.5% of the nautical market until August this year.
The nautical charter, rental of recreational boats records 28.7% of the registration of recreational boats made in the first nine months of 2018, although with -5.1% of ships registered for commercial use in respect of the same period of the previous year. It is a fact that the nautical rental market, which experienced historical growth in 2014 (almost 60%), tends to stabilize.
The most growing length in the period enero-September 2018 for use of rent are the ships between 6 and 8 meters (+ 11.4%) and between 12 and 16 meters (+ 4.1%), as in the global market for recreational boats.
For Autonomous Communities, Balearic Islands leads the nautical market with a share of 20.5% in this period and a growth of its enrolments of + 31%, followed by Catalonia which represents 19.2% of the nautical market and which falls by -13.7% in number of enrolments. Thirdly, Andalusia accounts for 17.4% of the nautical market and an increase in its enrolment in this period by 11.7%.
