The announced meeting with the General Directorate of the Merchant Navy of the Government of Spain, convened at the request of ANAVRE, was held. This eminent technical meeting was attended by Marina Mercante, a large representation of his high-level staff, which was composed of three of his four sub-directors-general and two of his area leaders.

On the part of the navigators, ANAVRE invited to go to AEGY, the Royal Naval League, and ANEN, in this way has been represented the whole field of the nautical, something that since ANAVRE considered as essential and basic, to obtain the correpondent consensus.

The meeting, which lasted about two hours, dealt with the points of the proposed amendment of the known Ministerial Order, bringing together the positions on the regulations that affect Spanish flag ships, but having as a great point of discord the one that affects foreign flags that are based in Spain.

On this last point, Marina Mercante understands that he has the power to regulate this type of boat, and seeks to establish a regulation based on the French Blue Law, something to which ANAVRE is frontly opposed.

On the rules that affect the Spanish flag, the administration coincided with ANAVRE in that among all we have to get the Spanish flag to have a more attractive and reasonable regulation... taking the administration into consideration enough points of those provided by ANAVRE in its allegations.

It should be noted that the text dealt with at this meeting is not the final one, since from what was provided by the parties to this important meeting, the Merchant Marina technicians will continue to work until they have a final draft.
