The Windsurfing Formula World Championship was held in the waters of Portimao and was resolved after three only tests disputed in two days marked by low wind intensity. Very complicated conditions that were facing more than 30 windsurfers from different parts of the globe and among them, some Andalusian prominent as the young Pilar Lamadrid who managed to win among women from a meritorious tenth absolute square.

The NC's windsurfer Puerto Sherry went up to its personal score a 14th, 10th and 11th and was too much for it. "I am happy with my result and the sensations on this table, different from the RS: X where I normally sail. But to tell the truth, the first day we went out in the water, I had a break in the candle before I left, which forced me to compete with the wind candle that is a meter and a half smaller. And of course, I had to work a lot more to try and go as fast as the rest. I was only able to use the low wind candle the last day, where we were overturned by a pre-final sleeve because all the wind was gone and in which it went 5th general. We've all been looking forward to more sleeves and more wind. It has been a very hard championship because of the lack of conditions, both inside and outside the water as waiting hours on the ground are much psychologically tired...."

In the same category, Blanca Carracedo, of the team of the CN Sevilla, finished in third female position at only one point of the second and seventeenth absolute, while in the male category, Jaime de Andrés (CV Valdelagrana) rose to the fifteenth position thanks to the last partial of the championship (21st + 16th + 14th) ending in fourth position Grand Master and Carlos Ortiz Hernández (CV Islantilla) chose to leave the competition one day before the end.
