This collaboration agreement between the three parties will help the members of the Spanish sailing team to carry out their training and concentrations in this Japanese location.

The Royal Spanish Vela Federation has signed an agreement with the city of Zushi, Japan, and the Riviera Marina de Zushi in order to close ties between the three parties and establish a framework of collaboration that will enable Spanish athletes to develop their training and concentrations in Japan in the best conditions.

The city of Zushi is located in the south of Tokyo and is located near Enoshima, a place chosen as the sailing venue of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. During this year the Spanish pre-Olympic team has visited this city and the Riviera Marina de Zushi, which has been the basis of the national regatists during the first round of the Sailing World Cup that was held in early September in Enoshima.

On Tuesday, 18 September, the signing of the collaboration agreement between the Namibian city and the RFEV was initialled. The event was attended by the mayor of the city of Zushi, Ryuichi Hirai; the president of Riviera Marina de Zushi, Akio Kobayashi; the president of the RFEV, Julia Casanueva; the Olympic preparation director (DPO), Asier Fernández and the Cultural and Scientific Counsellor of the Spanish embassy in Japan, José Antonio De Ory, among others.

The Spanish delegation also visited Zushi Shiritsu Kotsubo primary school on Wednesday, 19 September. The more than 400 students of the center starred in a meeting with several Spanish Olympic regatists, who interacted with the young Nipos explaining what the candle is and sharing what they have learned from Japan during their participation in the World Cup Series in Enoshima.

The national Olympic team was represented by Diego Botín and Iago Ópez-Marra (49er), the brothers Federico and Arturo Alonso (49er), Jordi Xammar and Nicolás Rodríguez (470m), Ivan Pastor (RS: X), coach Pepe Lis and DPO Asier Fernández, as well as President Julia Casanueva.
