These were the circumstances in which the twentieth edition of the "José Luis de Ugarte" School of Sailing Trophy was held, sponsored by Fashion Outlet and organized by the Royal Maritime Club of the Abra-Real Sporting Club. Two hundred regatists competed in the Optimist, Laser, Laser Radial, 420, Snipe and FEVA classes.
Álex Amunarriz, from the Nautical Club of Hondarribia, won in Optimist with 13 points, only one of the advantage over the Natalia Pérez and Paul Emezabal, from the Real Nautical Club of San Sebastián. The Vizcayos Gabriel Oraá and Aitor Carton of the host club were fourth and fifth. On his side, Mario Cabanas of Santander, in the only test that could be disputed, defeated in Laser Radial in front of Manolo Rey Baltar, Perico Basterra and Andoni Lejarraga, of the Abra Maritime.
The Santanderino Martín García was imposed in Laser 4.7 on Jon Almandoz de Hondarribia, and on Tanis Rey Baltar and Ander Sánchez de Las Arenas. Peru and Joana Abásolo, were the best in the 420 test with their fellow club Juan Olábarri and Miguel Antona seconds and the third-party Cantabros César Vega and Vidal of the Tower. In the FEVA class, Nerea Álvarez and Arantxa Sellhorn, from the Abra Maritime, beat Alba Ortega and Telma Aja second and Ignacio Albo and Diego Pérez (R.C.M. Santander) third parties. Rafael Martínez de Bourio and Gonzalo Ituri won in Snipe, while Carlos Maidagan and Nagore Hormaetxe concluded in the second square and Joaquín Armengot and Víctor Pérez finished third.

And it is that the absence of wind, despite the wait of the regatists for three and a half hours in the Vizcaina waters of the Abra on a summer day, resulted in the committee of regats estimating the return to the ground.
The José Luis de Ugarte- Fashion Outlet School of Sailing is one of the most important competitions of light sailing in the Cantabric. The ironing of the Club de Las Arenas was populated by boats that will seek the triumphs in the classes Optimist, Laser, Laser Radial, 420 and FEVA. In this new edition there is as always a relevant attendance of participants, with Basque regatists, Cantabros, Asturians and Madrileños, who in the first day suffered the lack of wind.

The José Luis de Ugarte School of Sailing Trophy, sponsored by Fashion Outlet, celebrates its twenty-eighth edition this next weekend of September 22 and 23 in the Vizcaina waters of the Abra. 200 regatists will sail in the Optimist, Laser, Laser Radial, 420 and FEVA classes, to show their skills, skills and hobby in a race that honors José Luis de Ugarte, the historic navigator who died ten years ago and has always named this relevant sports event and the School of Sailing of the Royal Maritime Club of the Abra-Real Sporting Club.
This "Ugarte" is the best of six sleeves in the different classes, with three tours in each day. The 70 ships of the Optimist class will compete in the Inner Abra race field. The sailing boats of the remaining classes, Laser (30), Laser Radial (25), 420 (16 ships) and FEVA, are already sailing in the field of the outside Abra. On Saturday the tests will start at 1: 00 p.m. and on Sunday at 12: 00 a.m..
In the last edition of 2017, the Vizcadno Tomás Trueba was imposed in the Laser Radial class with his partner from the Real Club Marítimo del Abra-Real Sporting Club Nicolás Viar in the second square. On the other hand, the hondarribitarra Jon Almandoz was the best in Laser 4.7, and the Cantabros Victor Maruri and Rafael Şlez- Echegaray ended up first in the FEVA class. Class Optimist, finished Txomin winner of the Rincón of the Nautical Club of Hondarribia. In the Snipe class, Joaquín Armengot and Salvador Martinez- Artero won. In 420, Jaime Framis and Martina Amunarriz (Hondarribia) dominated.
