The regatist of the Real Club de Regatas de Santiago de la Ribera, Carlos Martínez, was proclaimed world champion Grand Master of the Laser Standard class in waters of Dun Laoghaire, Ireland after six intense days in which a total of 11 tests have been completed, all under harsh wind conditions that have not fallen from the 18-20 knots of intensity every day.
The international meeting of the Laser class, organized by the clubs, Royal St George Yacht Club and National Yacht Club took place on September 9, and since then the bats have remained in the positions from above to the final phase in which it ended fourth to go up, third in the penultimate day and now, at the end of the competition, finish in a bright second square with 42 points, just 2 of the British champion Mark Lyttle.
In the locker of Martínez there are two partial triumphs (tests 2 and 11) and also stand out three seconds (test 5, 8 and 10), these being their most outstanding results in the 11 completed tests. The podium of this category has been closed with the Dutch Arnoud Hummel that has added 50 points. In this same category stands the 9th square of José Luis Doreeste.
