The first edition of the Madrid Week of Vela was closed with total success
The first edition of the Madrilela de la Vela Week was held, organized by the Madrilela de Vela Federation with the support of the Community of Madrid and the municipality of San Martín de ValdeIglesias, as well as the clubs of San Ramón and Real Club Náutico of Madrid.
The federation's bet at this event was somewhat tarnished by the poor wind conditions in the San Juan reservoir that conditioned and much the sports program planned by the Organizing Committee. Only Optimist and Optimist School class were able to complete two tests of the four planned. With a total participation of 30 ships (21-9) the podium in the general was configured with Gonzalo Villar (CN San Ramón), with two partial triumphs, followed by Daniel Neira (RCN Madrid) and Ignacio Villar, also from San Ramón. The first female was Ana Martínez, from the same club, concluding seventh in the general.
In the fleet Escuela, the color of the nautical of San Ramón as the three podium squares were for María Díaz, the first female, highlighting in her locker two partial triumphs that gave her 2 points. The second square was for Miguel Martínez, adding 6 points, and Esther Martínez, third with 8 points.
In the rest of the categories in which a test was completed, Eduardo and Fernando Bellosillo achieved a win in 420; David Peralta did it in Laser Radial, with a participation of 11 ships; Pablo Segers in Radio Control with 8 ships and Fabio and Lua Bruggioni in Snipe with 12 ships. The Soling (10 ships), ORC (6 ships), 747 (6 ships) and 470 (1 ship) fleets remained unable to compete in the total absence of wind.
On the social level, he highlighted the official opening of the Madrilela de la Vela Week, which had the presence of several personalities, highlighting Jaime de los Santos, Counsellor of Cultural Tourism and Sport of the Community of Madrid; Javier Orcaray, Director General of Sport who were received by Mª Luz Lastra, Mayor of San Martín de ValdeIglesias, accompanied by Luis Haro, Lieutenant Mayor and Guillermo Poyán, President of FEMAVE, as well as Adrián Dupuy, President of RCN Madrid and Julio Dongell, Vice President of the CN San Ramón among others.
21 / 09 / 2018: More than 80 ships in the week of Madrid of Sailing that begins in San Juan
The first Madrilela Week of Vela is launched this weekend, 22 and 23 September, and is done with 81 registered ships divided into 10 classes: Optimist, the largest, Snipe, Selling, Laser Radial, Laser Standard, 747, 420 and 470, the last two are the least put into place.
The first of the Madrid Sailing Week, it is already a great success to be able to bring together all these ships, some of them with top-level regatists and that contribute a quality plus to a sports project in which the Madrid Sailing Federation is firmly committed to being a race of future and continuity.
The meeting, which is organized among others by the Federation Madricala de Vela and which has the collaboration of the clubs of San Ramón, Real Club Náutico de Madrid and the International Navigation Centre of Arousa, in addition to the unconditional support of the Community of Madrid, in its area of Sports and the town of San Martín de ValdeIglesias and Atenea, plans to complete a total of six tests in the two days of competition. The first test of the day is scheduled for one in the afternoon.

The presentation was held yesterday at the General Directorate of Sports of the Community of Madrid with the presence of Javier Orcaray, General Director of Youth and Sport; Mª Luz Lastra, Mayor of San Martín de ValdeIglesias; Theresa Zabell, President of the Ecomar Foundation, Rosa García de Atenea; José Ángel Rodríguez, of the Technical Committee of the Regata and Guillermo Poyán, President of the Federation of Madrilela de Vela, among other personalities.
The Madrid Week of Vela was the common link for all the personalities who participated in the presentation, all of them coinciding with the relevance of this test and to which they boast a promising future, although they have highlighted the enormous difficulties it entails. They have also maintained the same tone at the time of value how important it is to be able to make known the virtues and many possibilities offered by the Madrid reservoirs, with a total of 39 of which 11 are navigable, and in which various nautical activities are carried out.
In this line it should be noted that there are already high-level races, case of the Open Villa of Madrid for the Snipe class, or the Iberian Championship, also of the same class and both in the RCN Madrid in its reservoir of San Juan and in which the best of the national and international panorama are quoted, without forgetting the Spanish Cup of Selling, which has also been organized by the CN San Ramón. To them is joined Valmayor, with different tests for the Laser class or 420 or in El Atazar, which received a test of Paralympic Sailing as well as another of Laser class in its categories 4.7, Radial or Standard within the Open Villa of Madrid de Laser.
These races are only a brief brush, as there are other important tests with the cruise class with the prestigious Spanish Navy Trophy organized by the nautical of Madrid or the 470 circuit organized by the CINA (International Navigation Center of Arousa) to quote one of them.
