The Valenciavela Infantil Trophy was held in the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia, "Regatta for UNICEF", with the participation of more than 200 ideal class regatists, who during two days of competition challenged the bad weather, rain and lack of wind. The race, which was noticeable for the ranking of the 2010-2019 Optimist Autonomous Cup, also has a solidarity character, since for seven years now, a part of the registration fee is intended to collaborate with UNICEF programmes.

The regatist of the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante signed a good performance that gave him the absolute victory in Optimist A, after dismissing its worst result, a 17 place in the fourth manga. The second square was for Quidel Villalba, of the CN San Antoni, who managed to place himself on the podium with more irregular results, among which there was a first place on test 4 and a 31st in the fifth. It closed the podium Carlos Espí, of RCN Valencia, which was also the winner sub-13. For its part, the fourth classified was Nora García, of the CN El Masnou, who proclaimed himself a female champion, with Adriana Castro Núñez, of the RCN Torrevieja as the first sub-13 female. The third sub-13 square was for Duco Van Nikkelen, of the RCN Calpe, which was eighth in the general.

Weather conditions also made a mistake in the regularity of the Optmiss B fleet, in which the victory was for Pedro Adan, of the CN Santa Pola with a very good performance in which its worst result was the ninth of the first test, which was discarded. The second square was for Guillem Serrat of the CN Altea, only one point behind the leader, being the third place for Melvin Steur of the RCN Calpe. The very young Clara Shopie García, of the CN Altea, managed to get the fourth position of the table, and the victory sub11 and absolute female. The second sub-11 square was for Eugenio Ribelles, of the CN Alicante Costa Blanca, the third being the Torreviejense Leo Griñan.

The Sailing Cuack Trophy was for the Real Club Nautico in Valencia, for being the club with best global results.

It is the first autonomous Optimist class test of the 2018-19 season

The Royal Nautical Club of Valencia celebrates this weekend one of its best known children's sailing races: the children's Valencian Trophy - a race in favor of UNICEF, which this year is its seventh edition. This is a high-level test of the Optimist class, which also has a solidarity component, as 7 of the 10 euros of each registration are used to collaborate with UNICEF campaigns.

In the absence of two days for the start of the competition, the test already exceeds the 200 registered regatists from all points of the Spanish geography, from Catalonia to Madrid, through Murcia, Baleares and, of course, the Valencia Community. The number of participants is increasing from year to year, as this race has become one of the most important citations of the Community's children's sailing.

During the two days of competition, the fleet will compete in eight categories: Male Optimist A, Female Optimist A, Male Optimist A sub-13, Female Optimist A sub-13, Female Optimist B, Female Optimist B sub-11 and Female Optimist B sub-11. A maximum of 6 tests are planned during the two competition days, which will start on Saturday 15 September at 12: 00.

This year the race is noticeable for the ranking of the Autonomical Cup for the season 2018-2019, so at the end of the year a new classification will be calculated by extracting the fleets from outside the Valencia Community, which will be the one to obtain the score for the preparation of the autonomous ranking.
