Poco e inestable viento para la última de las diez jornadas de regatas de la Semana Internacional de Vela Ciudad de Santander

Little and unstable wind for the last ten days of the International Sailing Week of Santander City

The International Sailing Week of Santander City has ended after ten days of competition in which the protagonists have been the eleven participating categories and in this fourth edition have taken the Bay of Santander with all possible conditions of navigation.

The Snipe class and 420 have been responsible for putting the final brooch on the Sunday day, with a proposal of three races in which there was much to be played. With English punctuality and unstable wind in terms of intensity began the one that in the end was the only race that could be disputed in the day, due to the wind fall for both class 420 and Snipe.

This is the end and end of one of the most intense editions of the International Sailing Week of Santander City, with the award of trophies to class 420 (won by the African Alonso and María-Pérez Canal women) and Snipe (with the victory of Enrique García de Soto and Pablo Pelayo).

The seventh test of the class 420 has been a race in the head and at a distance by three units that are finally the podium posts: Africa Alonso and María Pérez-Canal, the most regular and leader since the first day, and their fellow Galician Yago Barca with Diego Peleteiro & # 8211seconds in the final classification - and Yago Castro with Jaime Wizner.

The three ships have marked the pace to their desire and the podium posts have been disputed, with a tight victory in the final for the tandem Castro-Wizner to little length of Africa Alonso and María Pérez-Canal, and with Barca-Peleteiro to their stern.

Three winners for a total of three trials held with final triumph for Chiqui IV, by Enrique García De Soto and Pablo Pelayo, which has been done with a second position in the last contest.

In the second step of the podium is the Chonos de Juan Cajade and Alexandre Tinoco and to whom the triumph in the final test has allowed them to climb two positions. At the stern of the two Spaniards of Cantabria and Galicia is the French team of Frebault Jaques and Roze Kevin, with a third place in both the last race and the podium.

Día complicado para regatear en la bahía de Santander con las flotas de 420 y Snipe cerrando la Semana Internacional de Vela Ciudad de Santander

A complicated day to race in the Bay of Santander with the fleets of 420 and Snipe closing the International Sailing Week City of Santander

Complicated and long-lasting races, due to the fall of the wind, for the fleet of 420 that has managed to complete its three scheduled tests with much tenderness. The Galician team of Africa Alonso and María Pérez-Canal are the only ones who continue in the same position with which they ended in the first day showing great consistency.

The fleet went out into the furry water as shown by the Galician crews of Yago Barca and Diego Peleteiro, who were resenting the results of the first day, scoring two first and one second, who were going up to the second step of the podium.

The Tadem Castro / Wizner is another one that has come out for all and closed the day's markers up five positions and third. The Gallegos have scored a partial of three, two and one, more in line with their progression in the season.

The long day starring the 420 and Snipe classes that have played three and two races respectively. On Sunday, with the final races of these two classes, you can have a golden brooch at an intense International Sailing Week in Santander, with the award at 6: 00 hrs.

A very good race of the Snipe class in which Enrique García de Soto and his crew Pablo Pelayo have stood out by winning the first race of the day and scoring a second in the last test and which in the end gives them the lead but with only one point in the face of their impending pursuit, the tandem galo of Frebault Roze and Roze Kevin.

07 / 09 / 2018: The 420 Gallegos dominate the International Sailing Week of Santander

Galicia starts at the top by hoarding the podium to the full. Africa Alonso and María Pérez-Canal, Irene Martínez and Alejandro Ameneiro, and Paula Da Rocha sailing with Sofia Martínez (these last two crews of the team Abanca-Movistar) are located at the highest

The category 420 is the one that most female athletes have convened among the classes participating in the International Sailing Week of Santander City and the result, after the first of the three days that will be held in Santander Bay, could not be more eloquent.

The bay of Santanderina awoke laziness but the wind of the north-east reached its meeting with up to ten knots of intensity, thanks in part to the heat and the rise of the tide, which allowed the Committee of Regates to give the three tests scheduled in the inaugural day of the 420.
Three tests in which the most responsible for the water race have had to be worked out due to the fleet's competitiveness and the different premature exits that have happened.

Three Galician crews, belonging to the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo and Real Nautical Club of Sanxenxo, command in the classification. Africa Alonso and María Pérez-Canal (Real Nautical Club of Vigo) have not passed unnoticed to their adversaries by scoring two wins and a second place in the contested races, which give them four points in the general.

The second and third step of the provisional podium, also Galician, is for Irene Martínez and Alejandro Ameneiro with a third, second and first position scoring six points, while their team partners Abanca- Movistar Paula Da Roche with María Martinez- Almeida go up to their marker a third, thanks to a fourth and two third positions, with 10 points.

The fourth and fifth positions are also the territory of two female patrons (Catalina Morán and Lola Feldoso) and also Galician, and we must go down to the sixth position to find the first male crew: Yago Barca and Diego Peleteiro. The cantabrian teams have suffered, having to be in line with the first of their units (the one they command Lucia and Camilo Felipe) in the seventh position. The classification in 420 is as follows:

1. Africa Alonso / María Pérez-Canal. RCN Vigo 1.1.2 = 4 sts
2. Irene Martinez- Almeida / Alejandro Ameniero. RCN Sanxenxo 3, 2.1 = 6 sts
3. Paula Da Rocha / Sofia Martínez Almeida. RCN Sanxenxo 4,3,3 = 10 PTS
4. Catalina Morán / Clara Vaquerizo. RCN Sanxenxo 7,6,4 = 17 sts
5. Lola Felgueroso / Cesar Herrero. RCN La Coruña, 6,5,8 = 19 sts

26 Snipe boats, class with a legendary tradition in Spain, are quoted on the weekend in the canteen bay to put the gold brooch to the IV edition of the International Sailing Week City of Santander. These final tests promise a tight fight between the representatives of the Royal Maritime Club of Santander - with one of the best fleets of this category in Spain - and the representatives of Galicia, Asturias and Basque Country.

06 / 09 / 2018: More and more girls in Sailing Week

Good sensations and an increase in both female participation and interest among athletes are protagonists of the IV International Week of Sailing Santander City, which promote the Municipality of Santander, Government of Cantabria, Puerto de Santander and the Real Club Marítimo de Santander.

The presence of female athletes has gradually increased in this test over the last few years. Of the eleven classes and categories that participate in the sports event (WASZP, 3K Team Racing, cruises and J80, Optimist, RS Feva, 29er, Laser and Laser 4.7, 420 and Snipe, the latter without data as they have not started their competition -), the large number of female regatists in several classes must be highlighted.

The class with the highest presence is certainly 420, where of 40 regatists 20 are women competing in mixed or female crew and a 50% share.

The lag is followed by two very different modalities, both in format and in the range of competition age, the RS Feva and 2k Team Racing classes with a 45% female participation each.

The 2K Team Racing category is the only one that takes part in this International Sailing Week of Santander City in which its regulations require the composition of its teams to have between 3 and 5 female members of a total of eight.

It is also the list of registered RS Feva with 9 female athletes, compared to 11 men, either by sailing in female or mixed crews, and by marking a presence of 45% of all registered.

These four categories are followed on average by the 29er class that reaches 40%, another class with a lot of girls is the J80, which has been supported in the last seasons.

05 / 09 / 2018: International Sailing Week of Santander crown its young champions

Thunder, lightning, persistent rain, very unstable and light wind. These conditions have been faced by the regatists between 7 and 16 years of the classes Optimist, RS Feva, 29er, Laser and Laser 4.7 that today ended their participation in the International Week of Sailing Santander City

Camilo Plaza (Optimist), Alba Salmon and Ismael Cebezudo with the Ferrosite (29er), Eduardo Sarabia and Adolfo Pérez (RS Feva), Iñigo Prego (Laser) and Juan Carlos Cisneros (Laser 4.7) are on the first step of the podium of the International Sailing Week.

Tronaba in Santander and the storm already announced their participation in International Sailing Week. The smaller ones did not seem to be bitten with thunder, rain, and the weak and unstable wind, and after a deferral on the ground was given the way out for all classes. In the end, the Regatas Committee has been able, with effort, to give one of the three scheduled tests and thus to coronate the winners in each of the five classes that competed on Tuesday and Wednesday. 04 / 09 / 2018: The younger the protagonists of the International Sailing Week of Santander

The International Week of Vela City of Santander reaches its equator in full form in a very complete edition and carried out thanks to the push of the City of Santander, the Government of Cantabria, Puerto de Santander and the Real Club Marítimo de Santander.

On Tuesday, it has bequeathed the younger, with a hundred athletes competing in the Optimist classes, RS Feva, 29er, Laser and Laser 4.7, representing the Basque Country, Asturias, Madrid and Cantabria.

The wind has been expected and the activity in the CEAR facilities of Prince Philip has been a constant since the first hour of the morning. The first of the sleeves in the Arenales area of the bay has been delayed by an hour, two of the three tests scheduled due to the downfall.

Emotion and much at the time when the classifications have been made official since in none of the categories & # 8211except Laser 4.7- have been added consecutive victories. Wednesday's day is scheduled for three tests that will define final podiums that no one will adventure to secure.

02 / 09 / 2018: Catalan Joan Costa wins in WASZP in the International Sailing Week of Santander

The first weekend of the International Sailing Week of Santander has been closed with gold brooch and will give way to the classes Optimist, RS Feva, 29er, Laser, Laser 4.7 420 and Snipe until September 9.

I have no mercy on the Catalan Joan Costa and the Cantabrian Diego Botín for the triumph between the WASZP flying ships. The hand-by-hand between the canteen and Catalan has been saved in favor of the first with six first and four seconds, in a domain only threatened by Botín that ends second to three points of the winner. Third was Arturo Alonso with the "Gaiterín," without disturbing the classification of the "Golden Duo," with 18 points separating him from the triumph.

Triple tie to head. The final day of the 2K Team Racing has also given a show as it takes place in the dune Zaera maximum emotion, with encounters really conjured in conditions of strong wind. The intensity of the wind, which has passed from 20 knots, has forced the Regatas Committee to cancel the tests of the day at 3 p.m.

The final victory has fallen on the experienced British teams who, after 31 trials in three days, have been made with the full podium. Royal Thames, Serpetine (with the participation of the Cantabra Isabel Seco) and the Royal Dart are located on the three steps of the podium.

The Spanish representative, the team of the Real Club Marítimo de Santander patronado by the double champions of the world Jose María Torcida and Ignacio Camino, have had to settle for the fourth square after a day that has not been outstanding for them.

The Dutch DMTRA team is fourth, while the second Spanish team (RCMS Puertochico with the Patronas Mar Castanedo and Eva González) are located sextas. The classification is closed by the Italian team Rome.

Comfortable victory for the Flying Neleb of Garzia- German at IRC 1-2 which he saw as his great rival Yamamay of Gallo was forced to withdraw after a break. In IRC 3 the triumph has been for e Izaro de Cristobal and in class Club for Gabriela de García de Soto. The classifications are as follows:

01 / 09 / 2018: The Maritime of Santander to lead the race by teams of the International Week

The Santanderina Bay offers an unparalleled day with wind from the north-east of 20 knots that has shown unique conditions on the second day of the International Sailing Week City of Santander

The team that command the double world champions of J80 José María Torcida and Ignacio Camino del Real Club Marítimo de Santander has starred the hand-hit in the category of team races in the International Sailing Week of Santander City, matching itself in the first position of the markers with the British Royal Thames (patroned by Josh Adams and Tarrra Gill- Taylor) tied to points, but ahead of having won in the encounter he has faced them.

At the stern of the Cantabrian and British teams again shine the colors of the British flag with another double tie and with only two lost races: the until yesterday leaders Serpentine with patterns Henry Arnow and James Pinder to the cane and the cantabra Isabel Seco in their crew of the Royal Dart of Miles Jones and Mark Taylor.

The fans who have come to Duna Z aera did not expect a show such as that offered by the WASZP flying ships. After a first day in white these small units have been resarted with heart rate regats, compromised maneuvers and a number of percans. After five contested races the victories have been divided between the two favorites: Joan Costa del Costa Brava with three victories and Diego Botín, Real Club Marítimo de Santander, who took two clear victories and placed second, after an incident that cost him a penalty in the first test of the day. Third is Marcel Costa (C.N Costa Brava) which is located 6 points from the Catalan leader and 4 from Botín.

The fleet of cruises has faced a route that has taken them through the bay of Santanderina and has taken them to the waters of the open Sarmono, in hard conditions and in which has highlighted the break of the mast of the J80 Wally.

In the absence of a second coastal test tomorrow, the provisional triumph is the Yamamay of Javier Gallo followed by the Flying Neleb of Federico Garcia German. In IRC 3 the victory is for the Izaro of Amaya Cirtobal with the Quirios of Jose Luis del Castillo second, while in Club category first is the Karem of Elias del Corte followed by Gabriela de García de Soto.
