The victory in Portals for the United States, for "Quantum"

Quantum Racing today proclaimed itself the winner of Port Portals 52 Super Series Sailing Week. The ship of the American shipowner Doug DeVos had to wait until the last moment in order to celebrate the victory since the Azzurra and the Platoon, the teams that accompanied him on the podium, made things very complicated on the last day. Quantum reaffirms his leadership in the classification of the circuit and reaches the last test of the season in Valencia with a succulent 32-point advantage over the sailboat of Alberto and Pablo Roemmers and five more over the German of Harm Müller-Spreer.

But it was nothing simple to win the Americans, especially the last two days of competition. Friday and Saturday have been days of suffering for the American sailboat. But the team's expert crew has been able to solve all the obstacles that the rivals put on it and the very complicated race field this week of Palma Bay.

Second in the general is the Azzurra of the Roemmers family... in the first manga they managed to make a fantastic return as in the first buoy they passed ninth and then ended up in the fourth square. In the second they decided to leave the port side of the fleet and won the pin to the Rossa Moon. The race went to the team that defends the colors of the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda. Azzurra leaves Palma second and already thinking about the opportunity they have in Valencia.

The third place in the drawer was for the Platoon. The most Spanish team of the fleet, as on the ship go up to five Spanish regatists, of which two mallorquins: Más and Calafat. The German ship has done an excellent job in the last two days of competition. In the last four sleeves he has done three third and one second what has pushed him to the podium in Puerto Portals.

The first manga was defeated by the Providenza of Joan Fullana and Nacho Postigo. The Turkish ship, which defended title, leaves Portals with two partial triumphs, but with much inconsistency in its results that have ended it by condemning the final sixth square.

The last race of the season will be in Valencia from 18 to 22 September. Quantum has it all very much in his face to proclaim himself the champion of the 2018 circuit of 52 Super Series... what is very open is the fight for the other two positions in the drawer: Azzurra, Platoon, Sled and Luna Rossa will fight in the Malvarrosa to rise to the podium.

24 / 08 / 2018: Puerto Portals 52 Super Series comes to the last day with "Quantum" very harassed in the lead

Quantum picha on a complicated day with unstable wind at Port Portals 52 Super Series Sailing Week. Luna Rossa and Sled win the sleeves of the day

The Port Portals 52 Super Series Sailing Week reaches its last day of competition with the swords on all levels. Quantum Racing had a bad day today which allowed its direct followers to cut something away in the general. And there are up to four teams that are still on fire (five points) of the American sailboat: Azzurra, Luna Rossa, Phoenix and Platoon. The two trials disputed today with little and complicated wind were won by the Rossa Moon and the Sled.

Quantum Racing didn't have his best day today. Nor is it that he is in, but what he did was open a window to his rivals and to the excitement in the face of the last day of race that is held tomorrow in the Bay of Palma. The Americans accumulated a sixth and an eighth and scored 14 points, only one less than they had joined in the previous two days.

The best boat of the day was the Platoon of the German shipowner Harm Müller-Spreer. After doing an off-line on the first sleeve he recovered and ended up in a very meritorious third position. Since he repeated in the second with what became clear the control of the regatta field of the Majorcan Jordi Calafat that makes the decisions in the stern along with John Kostecki.

The first sleeve was from the Rossa Moon. He went out through the pin with speed and the outside line of the Platoon was also joined by the Protenzza. Also on the right side he chose to leave the Azzurra that coming to the buoy of barlovento did an incorrect maneuver and had to be penalized. The italoArgentines went from a quarter to a tenth and condemned all the options they had in their sleeve.

The second was taken by Takashi Okura's Sled. The two ships that won today have been the first to repeat success in Portals this season. The Sled made an impressive manga with a perfect reading of the race field in charge of his tactical champion of the last Copa América, New Zealand Ray Davies. Azzurra recovered from his failure on the first sleeve by making a solid second and always looking for the tickles to the Sled with different tactical options.

The last day of the race in the Bay of Palma is scheduled for tomorrow... the fleet plans to start the tests at one in the afternoon, so is the classification:

1. Quantum Racing (USA) (Doug DeVos) (2,4,2,5,2,6,8) 29 points.
2. Azzurra (ARG / ITA) (Alberto / Pablo Roemmers) (6,5,1,6,4,9,2) 33 p.
3. Luna Rossa (ITA) (Patrizio Bertelli) (7,2,6,9 Penalti 2,1,1,6) 34 p
4. Platoon (GER) (Harm Müller-Spreer) (1,10,8,2,7,3,3) 34 p.
5. Phoenix (RSA) (Hasso / Tina Plattner) (5,3,4,4,3,10,5) 34 p.
6. Alegre (USA / GBR) (Andrés Soriano) (3,6,3,8,2,9) 39 p.
7. Sled (USA) (Takashi Okura) (8,9,5,1,10,8,1) 42 p.
8. Provides (TUR) (Ergin Imre) (4,1,7,10,7,10) 45 p.
9. Onda (BRA) (Eduardo de Souza Ramos) (9.8, DNF11,3,9,4,4) 48 p.
10. Gladiator (GBR) (Tony Langley) (10,7,9,7,5,5,7) 50 p.

23 / 08 / 2018: "Quantum" and "Phoenix" send in Puerto Portals on the 52 Super Series without any first

Quantum, without having won a manga, reaffirmed his leadership of the Port Portals 52 Super Series Sailing Week. The American ship continues to show great regularity to master the general of the fourth test of the season of this race circuit. The second position in the general is for the Phoenix of the German regatist Tina Plattner who is doing an excellent job in Portals.

The winners of the sleeves have been the Sled and the Rossa Moon with which after five contested races we have five different sleeves winners which shows how equal the sailboats of this competition are. But neither of the two sailboats right now in the dominant part of the classification have won a single sleeve. Quantum maintains strong results as it has been second in three of the five sleeves disputed while the Phoenix of the Plattner family has also not made a worse result of a fifth place.

The first sleeve of the day was for the Sled. The day's incident occurred at the exit, as the Rossa Moon collided with the Gladiator. The incident was very expensive to the Copa América project because, in addition to having to make a 360-degree turn, it suffered a two-point penalty so for the Italians the manga was filled with a dramatic 11. The opposite of the American-Japanese shipowner's Sled Takashi Okura.

In the second manga of the day there was only one name: that of the Rossa Moon. The plank of the Copa América project made the perfect exit, this time dominating the pin side. For tomorrow's third day of competition, which is reached with this classification:

1. Quantum Racing (USA) (Doug DeVos) (2,4,2,5.2) 15 points.
2. Phoenix (RSA) (Hasso / Tina Plattner) (5.3.4.4.3) 19 p.
3. Azzurra (ARG / ITA) (Alberto Roemmers) (6,5,1,6,4) 22 p.
4. Luna Rossa (ITA) (Patrizio Bertelli) (7,2,6,9 Penalti 2.1) 27 p.
5. Platoon (GER) (Harm Müller-Spreer) (1,10,8,2,7) 28 p.
6. Provides (TUR) (Ergin Imre) (4,1,7,10,6) 28 p.
7. Alegre (USA / GBR) (Andrés Soriano) (3,6,3,8,8) 28 p.
8. Sled (USA) (Takashi Okura) (8,9,5,1,10) 33 p.
9. Gladiator (GBR) (Tony Langley) (10,7,9,7,5) 38 p.
10. Onda (BRA) (Eduardo de Souza Ramos) (8.9, DNF11,2.9) 40 p.

22 / 08 / 2018: "Quantum Racing" of the US leader in Puerto Portals of the 52 Super Series

Platoon, Provezza y Azzurra ganan las tres primeras mangas en una fantástica jornada del Puerto Portals 52 Super Series

Platoon, Providenza and Azzurra win the first three sleeves on a fantastic day of Puerto Portals 52 Super Series

From behind are four teams that are tied with 12 points, four from the American sailboat. Azzurra, Providenza, Luna Rosa and Alegre are well positioned to fight for being on the Puerto Portals podium next Saturday.

The first manga was a Platoon monologue who made the perfect exit in the center of the fleet. The ship of the German Harm Müller-Spreer left more quickly than the rest and just at the time the timer marked zero seconds. It was a master maneuver of the shipowner and teuton cane that served him to get open the marker of the port portals 52 Super Series Sailing Week.

The second manga was for the Provider of the Turkish shipowner Ergin Imre and led by Peter Holmberg, although he had a fight with the Rossa Moon of Francesco Bruni and Vasco Vascotto for the manga leader. The fight for triumph was typical for the two projects that were in the lead. The Protenzza dominated the first two steps by buoy and in the second step by the barlovento was the Rossa Moon that had a small rent on the Turkish sailboat.

The third manga was also taken by the sailboat that best went out. And in this case it was the Azzurra of the Argentine tandem Guillermo Parada- Santiago Lange that from the left side of the race field dominated the whole manga. Once again, the Quantum Racing made a demonstration of solvency by moving from a fifth place in the barlovent beacon to a second at the end of the sleeve. This is how the triumphs are founded in the championships. The classification is as follows:

1. Quantum Racing (USA) (Doug DeVos) (2,4.2) 8 p.
2. Provides (TUR) (Ergin Imre) (4.1.7) 12 p.
3. Azzurra (ARG / ITA) (Alberto Roemmers) (6,5.1) 12 p.
4. Alegre (USA / GBR) (Andrés Soriano) (3.6.3) 12 p.
5. Phoenix (RSA) (Hasso / Tina Plattner) (5,3,4) 12 p.
6. Luna Rossa (ITA) (Patrizio Bertelli) (7,2,6) 15 p.
7. Platoon (GER) (Harm Müller-Spreer) (1,10,8) 19 p.
8. Sled (USA) (Takashi Okura) (8,9,5) 22 p.
9. Gladiator (GBR) (Tony Langley) (10.7.9) 26 p.
10. Onda (BRA) (Eduardo de Souza Ramos) (8.9, DNF11) 28 p.

The absence of wind led to the cancellation of the first day of the race in Puerto Portals 52 Super Series Sailing Week... the two sleeves planned for the premiere of the competition in the waters of the Bay of Palma were cancelled at 3: 00 p.m. as the little wind existing did not offer guarantees of being able to make a fair race.

Maria Torrijo, responsible for the competition's Regatas Committee, had no choice but to suspend the sports activity... she was the only one who went out to sea today as the fleet of the ten ships of seven different nationalities remained in port waiting for the time to improve. And he didn't. So, at three in the afternoon, it was decided that there were no races on the first day of competition.

The race programming is maintained until Saturday... it is expected that from tomorrow Wednesday eight sleeves can be held to decide the winner of the Port Portals 52 Super Series Sailing Week.

20 / 08 / 2018: The "circus" of the TP52 arrives in Puerto Portals... one of the related competitions of the candle

Los diez barcos que compiten desde mañana en la Puerto Portals 52 Super Series Sailing Week llegan muy afinados a la regata... Spithill es baja en el Luna Rossa y Burling se sube al Gladiator

The ten ships that have been competing since tomorrow at Port Portals 52 Super Series Sailing Week arrive very tuned to the race... Spihill is low on the Rossa Moon and Burling is on the Gladiator

The Port Portals 52 Super Series Sailing Week brings together the ten best projects in the world of the TP52 class in the waters of the Bay of Palma, ships of seven different nationalities, that come to the meeting with the swords very well sharp after having already exceeded half the calendar of the competition... Providenza defends the triumph achieved last year in the waters of Portals, while the Quantum Racing wants to extend its great moment so that it has brought Mallorca as leader of the 2018 circuit.

The race today had its training test, although it had to wait until 3: 00 in the afternoon to get a way out. The victory in the manga was for the Quantum Racing, followed by Azzurra and Luna Rossa. The three great favorites to the success in Portals have already been positioned from the first moment on a manga with little wind, between seven and eleven knots. Today's race did not count for the classification and will be done from tomorrow to Saturday. Ten barlovento-sotavento sleeves are planned, two each day. The starting hours of the races are one in the afternoon.

Quantum Racing heals in Portals with a succulent income in the general classification over the rest of the fleet. They are the ones who have made the transition to the new ship best and of the three contested races have won two. In the waters of the Balearic Islands, the shipowner Doug DeVos who was already in Zadar (Croatia) is back on the boat. The mythical Dean Barker has left him the position in the TP52 cane. The New Zealand regatist counts his two races as a reed for victories and in Portals' will have to conform 'with the position of strategist on the sailboat.

A sensitive low within the constellation of stars that is 52 SUPER SERIES is that of Jimmy Spihill. The Australian, winner of the American Cup with the Oracle, felt a strong pain in the elbow last Saturday when he was going to train with his colleagues on the Rossa Moon.

A star that leaves by force majeure and another that comes. The champion of the last Copa América and winner of a gold at the 2016 Rio Games, Peter Burling, gets on the Gladiator to get under the orders of the shipowner Tony Langley. The New Zealand will act as a tactic on the English ship in what is a star booster.

In Portals, in addition to Quantum and Luna Rossa, the Azzurra is expected to win its first race of the season. After a start of season with many problems, new ship and filling the hole left by Vasco Vascotto, they want to be resented with a victory in Portals. They are the only team that in the three editions the race has been in this port has always ascended to the podium of Portals Square. And they want to do it again for the fourth time and repeat the victory they won in 2015 when the TP52 World Cup was held in these waters from which they proclaimed themselves winners.

But we must not forget ships such as the Platoon, with five Spanish regatists including the Majorcan Jordi Calafat, and the Providenza that always sails very well in the Bay thanks to the knowledge of the Nacho Postigo navigator... these are the teams participating in Puerto Portals:

Alegre - Andy Soriano (USA / GBR), 2018 Botin
Azzurra - Roemmers Family (ARG / ITA), 2018 Botin
Gladiator - Tony Langley (GBR), 2017 Botin
Luna Rossa - Patrizio Bertelli (ITA), 2018 Botin
Onda - Eduardo de Souza Ramos (BRA), 2018 Botin

Provides - Ergin Imre (TUR), 2018 Vrolijk
