1. -The crew of the "Hotel Princesa Yaiza" will receive next September in Baiona the National Terra Guda Sailing Award to the monotype of the year after having made history in the Spanish candle by becoming in 2018 a pentacampeone of the world of the class J80.
In the championship for the world scepter held last July in the French town of Les Sables d'Olonne, the sailboat led by the lanzaroteño Rayco Tabares not only added its fifth title, but also the fourth in a row, following the 2015 wins in Kiel, 2016 in Sotogrande and 2017 in Southampton. A team of the Canary Rayco Tabares, world pentacampeon; Héctor González and Lai Torres, with 4 world titles in their own; and Alfredo González and Alejandro Bethencourt, with three titles each.
In the gala of the National Vela Terras Guda Awards to be held at Mount Real Club de Yates on September 1, Princess Yaiza's leader, Rayco Tabares, will continue to write his name with capital in the history of the Spanish candle, receiving the one that will already be his second national prize. The regatists have been chaining national and international successes, the bronze of the World Sailing of Santander, the silver of the World Cup Series of Hyéres, the sixth place achieved in the World Championship held in Thessaloniki, the victory at the Kieler Woche (Kiel Week) or the first three crews of the European Championship that was held in Bulgaria.
His last great feat was the silver obtained at the World Olympic Sailing Championship, held this August in Denmark, and his goal is now at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, as his ultimate aspiration today is to be the Spanish ones representing the country in the 470 class and to go home with a medal.
