"GS1" by Fernando Alonso wins with authority in the Trophy President of Vela in Gijón
The "GS1," by Fernando Alonso, is made with the seventh edition of the Trophy President of the Real Club Astur de Regatas that organized the centenary club gijonés, corresponding to "El Mambo," by José Enrique García Rivero the second position... being the "Gin-Glass," by Alfredo Alegría the third square.
On sabatina day, the seventh edition of the President Trophy has been held in the waters of Gijón Bay, a test that was born with the aim of gathering the fleet in a day where sport and fraternization are combined, among the crews that usually participate in the extensive season of regats in Gijón.
Excellent sea and Vivian conditions in the regatta field that forms the bay of San Lorenzo, with north-east wind of 12 to 15 knots of intensity, sea of wind on a day of authentic northern summer.
In the first manga, the triumph was for the GS1, patronized by Fernando Alonso who would cross the first place the line of arrival, the second square would be for the Mambo, by José Enrique García Rivero, followed by the Gin-Glass, by Alfredo Alegría. The Taxus Medioambiente, by Alfredo Flórez who defended the title, due to an error when taking the arrival beacon, had to conform to the fifth place in the test. The fourth square, just a second in the corrected time of Alegría, was obtained by the Ita II, of Pedro Guerra.
In the second sleeve, the conditions of sea and wind were similar to the first, although the wind would rise a little. Again, the GS1, by Fernando Alonso would be the best of the race, a position that was worth the final triumph in the Trophy. The second square was for the Taxus MedioAmbiente, by Alfredo Flórez, ending in third position the Gin-Glass, by Alfredo Alegría, which would occupy this same place in the general. For its part, the Mambo, by José Enrique García Rivera with the fourth square achieved in the manga, was assured the second position in the general classification of the Trophy.
