Energy Observer, the first ship powered by renewable energy and hydrogen, currently carries out an "Odyssey for the future" of 6 years, 50 countries and 101 scales... the ship will stop in Valencia from 31 August to 5 September to allow the public to discover its technology through an interactive exhibition and to meet with local representatives for the ecological transition

Energy Observer is the first autonomous hydrogen ship in energy without greenhouse gas emissions or fine particles. This ship of the future of electric propulsion works thanks to a combination of renewable energies and a decarbonized hydrogen production system from sea water. This technological and scientific challenge aims to test cutting-edge technologies in extreme conditions, anticipating what will be the energy networks of the future, applicable in a terrestrial environment.

Energy Observer has embarked on a six-year "Odyssey for the Future" (2017-2022), 50 countries and 101 ports of call, directed by Victorien Erussard, founder and captain, and Jérôme Delafosse, chief of expedition and documentary maker. This return to the world is intended to be a window of innovation in the area of ecological transition, and to raise public awareness of renewable energy, biodiversity, agroecology, mobility and even the circular economy, through the scales with its itinerant village, social networks and a series of documentaries.

This twenty-first century expedition focuses on the implementation of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, of which Energy Observer is the first ambassador of France. Energy Observer received the High patronage of Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, as well as the official support of the European Union, UNESCO and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).
