Yacht enrollments close energy -July 2018 with a growth of more than three points

According to ANEN, the market for recreational craft remains positive, with a growth of 3.1% in the first seven months of this year. 4,182 recreational vessels have been registered compared to 4,055 registered in the same period in 2017, of which 1,272 are for vessels for rent (30.4%).

By length, the most growing segment, 14.2%, is that of ships between 12 and 16 meters. The most demanded recreational boats in Spain are still the ships up to 8 meters long which account for 89.7% of the nautical market.

By type of boat, the water bikes have grown the most in this period with an increase in their enrolment of 11.6%. Motor ships are the most demanding boats in Spain, accounting for 43.2% of the nautical market. The nautical charter, the rental of recreational boats that represents 30.6% of the nautical market, decreases in this period in number of enrolments by -6.33%.

For Autonomous Communities, Balearic Islands leads the nautical market with a share of 20.30% in this period, followed by Catalonia which represents 20% and Andalusia which represents 17.73% of the nautical market. The charter market is also led by the Balearic Islands, which represents 27.52%, followed by Catalonia 23.6% and the Valencia Community with a market share of 17.5%.
