The Spanish rowing is able to revalidate the gold medal in category 2x light weight in the Remo World Championships, and they end today in the city of Poznan (Poland). Manel Balastegui Riguillo and Rodrígo Conde Romero have won the gold medal of this Olympic mode, by imposing in the final to Italy, Germany, Chile, Ireland and New Zealand.

Beyond the gold medal, the performance of the Spanish team has been positive, almost all teams, except for the female 2-, have fought for the classification for the Final A, getting it in the case of two of them, and being very close to two other teams. In category 4x light weight, the equipment has finished in 6th final position, improving the result obtained, in which they finished octavos.

The 2x female light weight, probably damaged by the weather conditions of yesterday, did not achieve the classification for the Final A but won the Final B with authority, which shows that they could have fought to repeat the result of the previous year where these same girls, Rocío Laó Sánchez and Estel Boix Noguer, ended up in 5th position.

The 4x male formed by Ismael Rifi Carbó, Jordi Jofre Senciales, Iván Rico Castro and Gonzalo Pérez Fernández had to settle for the 5th position in the Final B. They were much of the race among the first three classified, but a perch slowed them down in their progression and relegated them to this eleventh final position.

The female 2- of Victoria Cid i Centelles and Nuria Puig Aguiló could not get the classification for the semi-finals A / B, and had to row the Final C, where it ended in 2nd position and thus obtained the 14th final position.
