The thirty-seventh edition of the Mapfre King's Cup was fired with the most complicated conditions of the week, adding an extra of dramatism to the title struggle in the ten classes that were to be decided after the "Momo," the "Team Beau Geste" and the "Bribon" condemned their victories to a day of the closure of classifications. Repeat in ClubSwan 42 the Italian "Selene" of Massimo de Campo despite today signing the worst performance of the week (6-2). The "Nadir" of Pedro Vaquer (7-3) and the "Pez de Abril" of José María Meseguer (3-4) follow only two points.

The second day of GC32 was resolved with five sleeves. The best of the day was the "INEOS Team UK" (4-1-2-1-4), a performance that allows the British union of America's Cup to extend to four points its advantage over the French "Norauto," leader of the GC32 Racing Tour and winner of the 2016 Mapfre King's Cup.

The "Stig" is the new leader in the Melges 40 class after signing an almost perfect day on which only one point was given (2-1-1). The ship of Alessandro Rombelli takes the first position to the Japanese "Sikon," which was left unmarked in the second of the day by a failure on the stick.

The BMW ORC 1 class shows one of the most incarnated confrontations by the title, the starring "Estrella Damm" by Luís Martínez Doreeste (2-2 today) and the "Rats on Fire" by Rayco Tabares (1-1). The day began with the expectation of seeing the debut of the 14 units of 6 meters, which compete in their first Mapfre King Cup divided into two classes: Modern and Classic. Dieter Schon's "Momo" continues in the head of class Mallorca Sotheby's IRC 0, but has lost its untouchable condition. The German ship was overtaken in the first manga of the day by the "Cannonball" of Dario Ferrari, who took a good exit to fit him half a minute in the finish line, but was again firmly imposed on the second to consolidate his control of the provisional.

Similar situation occurred in ClubSwan 50. After its impeccable beginning of the week yesterday, Sönke Meier's "Niramo" could only add a few 2-4 partials today, enough to keep in front of the provisional. The MRW Swan 45 change the leader and tighten the situation at the head of the provisional. The 2017 champion, the "Elena Nova" of the German Christian Plump, who has been the best of the day (1-2) and has been able to take advantage of the most discreet results (2-4) of the "Porron IX" of Luís Senís, to which he now takes a point.

The "Selene" of Massimo de Campo is the new leader of ClubSwan 42. The Russian pattern is the new leader thanks to an almost perfect day (2-1), and takes the minimum of the first day winner, the "Bribon Movistar" (1-5). The first three classified are concentrated in two points.

Tomorrow, the third day of competition, will meet for the first time in the race field the 154 ships registered in the 37 Cup of the King MAPHRE, an unprecedented milestone in the history of the event. The program consists of barlovento-sotavento races for all classes except the Majorca Sotheby's IRC 0-1 and the BMW ORC 2-3, which will run in coastal format. So are the generals:

When it is only 48 hours before the action in Palma Bay begins, the 37 Cup of King Mapfre has officially started today with the opening of the office of regats and registration of participants, which will continue throughout the weekend. The Organization has already entered into regatta mode and the activity in the Real Club Nautico de Palma begins to be of the most intense.

The one that will be the thirty-seventh edition of the most important race in the Mediterranean will beat all the records: 17 categories, 160 ships, 29 countries and 2500 crew are figures that speak for themselves of the success of the event, which have a non-sailing press logistics: 400 accredited journalists.

Five classes will compete in compensated time: IRC 0, IRC 1, ORC 1, ORC2 and ORC3, and seven in real time: ClubSwan 50, Swan 45, Swan 42, GC32, Melges 40, J80 ′ and 6 Meters International... and to more than two classes have received a special invitation from the organizers, Melges 40 and 6 Meters International.

Philip VI is expected to be part of the crew of the Aifos 500, a spectacular Swan50 Club of 15.25 meters in length in the IRC1 category... a maximum of 20 tests are expected for the GC32, 12 will perform the Melges 40 and J80 and up to 11 the rest of the classes... after Saturday and Sunday of measurements and controls, the competition will begin on Monday, holding the last time tests of the King's Cup on Saturday, August 4.
