"Maitena" winner of the Costa Vasca de Vela Regata that organized the Nautico de Hondarribia
The "Maitena" of Mikel Emaldi, from the Real Club Marítimo del Abra - Real Sporting Club, was awarded the twenty-seventh edition of the Costa Vasca Regata that was held for three intense days in guipuzcoan waters. The Corel 45 vizcadino took the precious Golden Whale, while the Asturian crew of the "Bullbox" patrolled by Sebastiano di Napoli based in Avilés, collected the silver whale as it was only one point from the winner. The "Garatu Group '," patronized by Iker Almandoz, of the Nautical Club of Hondarribia - the recent subchampion of the world of class J 80 in Les Sables d'Olonne- was ranked third to take the bronze whale.
On the other hand, the female crew of the "Garatu Group," patronized by Olatz Muñoz, ended first in the female division by imposing on the "Loia," also from the Nautical Club of Hondarribia, while the young crew of the "J 80 Worlds Getxo 2019" of the Royal Abra Maritime Club-Real Sporting Club completed the female podium with a very meritorious third position. In the open class, the victory was for Esteve Viñolas' Sampaina 92.
The Nautical Club of Hondarribia organized the test this year as a member of the committee, also part of the Real Club Marítimo del Abr- Real Sporting Club and the Real Nautical Club of San Sebastián... the appointment is sponsored by Euskadi Sports Ports (EKP) and with the collaboration of the Basque Vela Federation.
