"Orbayu" the fastest of the Candas- Luanco - Gijón journey in the Astorian Sailing Week
Today they completed the tests of the nineteenth edition of the Astorian Week of Vela, after taking place on Tuesday the Regata A2, on Thursday the Regata Inversa, on Saturday the Regata Costera (Candas- Luanco-Gijón), and on Sunday the tour Barlovento / Sotavento in Gijón organized by the Federation of Sela of the Principality of Asturias, Club Bahia de Gijón and Club Marítimo de Luanco and the collaboration of the City of Gijón.
The weather conditions of Saturday with north-west winds allowed the ship "Orbayu" by Miguel Suarez Ramón, with a cloudy time, to complete the 20-mile tour between Candas, Luanco and Gijón, in 2 hours and 25 minutes followed by the Mambo, by José Enrique Quevedo, in 2 hours and 30 minutes.
On Sunday, however, with excellent weather conditions, with a wind of a Northeast component of 10 Nodes of intensity, it was the "Mambo" sailboat of José Enrique García Ribero, which rose with the triumph in the manga barlovento-sotavento and also in the general classification. In addition, on the last day, the Monotype Class 595 was incorporated, in which the "Red" boat of Alfonso Vallejo was imposed with notorious authority on its 10 rivals competing in real time on the same circuit as the cruises with a short tour.
