The Torreviejense test is presented with a new appeal, as the trophy and name of the race will be complemented from now on with the 'Memorial Fernando Pedrera'

The Royal Nautical Club of Torrevieja has presented this morning, on the terrace of the club, the 54th Torrevieja Trip-Cabo Roig and the 3rd Astoria Cup. A quote that will take place on August 15 and will have a new appeal, as the trophy and name of the race will be complemented from now on with the 'Memorial Fernando Pedrera' one of the great drivers to be able to give the iconic regatta Cabo Roig de Torrevieja the name of Astoria and, as a result, its support as the main sponsor.

The presentation of the emblematic Torrevieja regata has been attended by Manuel Valera, organizer of the Astoria Torrevieja Regata - Cabo Roig; Gabriel Hostalet, Vocal de Crucero del RCN Torrevieja; Sara Maddaloni, Sirena 2016 of the Torreviejense club and that in this year leaves his' reign 'and Carlos Torrado in representation of the Federation of Vela de la Comunitat Valenciana.

In sports, the date will have two tests. The first of these will be developed in the morning with the journey to Cabo Roig, with a marked focus for the cruise fleet promotion (amateur). The second will take place in the afternoon and already with a more technical character, with two barlovento-sotavento tests for the cruise fleet ORC somewhat more professional and that gives rise to the Astoria Cup and that in this edition it is its third edition.

The organizing committee has indicated in the presentation that the race is limited to 50 ships, hoping to cover that quota. After the analysis and success of participation in the previous editions "is a goal that can be achieved," Valera has highlighted in the presentation, adding that "as in previous years we hope to have the best ships of the Comunitat Valenciana and Region of Murcia.
