The four-year edition of the Conde de Gondomar-GP Banco de Sabadell Trophy, which organized the Monte Real Club of Yates in Baiona, ended in the Vigo era, with a traditional day in the last days of July, traditional from a meteorological point of view: little wind and fog that made it very difficult to navigate, and less so that the judges managed to hold one of the magazine sleeves,
The final victory was for the "April Oils" of the Pérez Canal brothers competing for the Nautico de Vigo... their great rival the "Pairo 8" did not take part in the closing race, it was made with the title of Spanish champion of Altura (Galicia Zone)... a classification in which the Pérez Canal ship did not participate... that sometimes falls into the error of being created...
The Count of Gondomar continues on a strange path of wanting to magnify it on the basis of many ships, but neither quality nor quantity is being achieved, because its planning and demands is that of a quality race and the shipowners have to choose from comfortable and pleasant races, or very serious and quality competitions such as the Count... which had a very acceptable participation of 12 ships (the rest was filled with monotypes, school ships and family cruises, which did not go up to Finisterre). The final forced classifications were as follows:

22 / 08 / 2018: "Oils April" leads the Count of Gondomar in Baiona ahead of "Pairo 8" and "Siradella"

The Count of Gondomar - Trophy Banco Sabadell will say goodbye to its forty-third edition on Wednesday, July 25, the feast of Santiago Apostle, from noon on the Fondadero of the Cí Islands, with a final menu composed of two sleeves for all classes
The "Oils Abril" of the Pérez Canal brothers of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo is the leader of the Conde de Gondomar Trophy - Grand Prix Banco de Sabadell, which is organizing the Monte Real Club of Yates in its forty-third edition. After the boat "Orensano" are located "Pairo 8" by José Luis Freire also from the Nautico Vigués and the "Siradella" from Pachicho Gude from the Real Club Nautico de Portosín.
However, "Oils Abril" despite winning in the long race of the Count, it has not been proclaimed the Spanish High Champion in terms of the Galician area, this title has been for the "Pairo 8" of Freire capitalized by Luis Bugallo and with Laureano Wizner as tactical... the reason is that the winner has refused to pay the rate of 750 euros of advertising to the Spanish, and has not been qualified for the National Cruises... the other ships (the rest) have not paid it... but as they have no advertising names...
In the class ORC 1-2, behind the "Oils April" and the "Pairo 8," both of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo, the Siradella of the Real Nautical Club of Portosin was placed, patroned by Francisco Gude; and in the class PSA Retail ORC 3, they occupy the positions of the provisional podium the "Oral Group Galimplant" of Pedro Pazos of the Real Nautico Club of Sanxenxo, the Gorilón of "Emigdio Bedia" (Real Maritime Club of Santander) and the Club of Maras (Javier 4). "
Other ships of the family cruise classes, or monotypes J-80 and Figaro, took part in regatas to the socaire of the Count of Gondomar in the interior of the Rias of Baiona and Vigo... the result of these competitions aimed exclusively at enriching the Count of Gondomar, were recorded victories of "Fend la Bise," "Okofen" and "Erizana..." in regatas that aim to give more packaging and vistosity to the Count of Gondomar... but unfortunately the only thing that they manage to confuse the great public, to remove the crew of the people of the people of the Rivers, and to simply to undermine the true ones of the Club... there are all that are the ones of the people of the same... that are not of the great. The Spanish Championship... we'd better leave it...

He began the Count of Gondomar, which sponsors the Bank of Sabadelly, which, as is traditional, organizes the Mount Real Club of Yates of Baiona... a Gondomar that has two versions: the real one and the decaf one... which is obviously not the "real Gondomar." Among those in the first lot, the real clear, the largest ships, of the Storax ORC 1-2 and PSA Retail ORC 3 classes, with the star stage of the Chico Carrumeiro in which with 100 miles ahead the wind is failing, which makes it predict that this will go for long. At a real rate, the favorites: "Oils Abril" of the Pérez Canal brothers and the legendary "Pairo 8" of the "great master of the Galician candle" by José Luis Freire.
In the Coca Cola ORC 4 class, the "Decaf Gondomar" the winner of the day was the Fend the Bise of Jean Claude Sarrade, of the Monte Real Club de Yates. He used just over 5 hours to finish the course and was placed in the first position of the provisional classification. In second and third place, the Black Mockery of the Nautical Club of Castrelo do Miño, led by Juan José Martínez, and the Changers of the Balea Dous, with Luis Pérez at the head.
In the Martin Miller J80 class, competing in real time, the Okofen did not suffer the absence of Javier de la Gandara, his usual pattern, and with Diego Fernández to the command became the fastest of the day. He sold, yes, by a little margin, as just a few seconds after he crossed the line of arrival another of the favorites to get the title, the Virazo de Miguel Lago, also from Mount Real Club de Yates. The third provisional position was left by the Cansino del comandoro del Monte Real, Fernando Yáñez.
The 43rd Count of Gondomar - Trophy Banco Sabadell (authentic version and decaf version)... will continue tomorrow Sunday from noon with the second test for the Coca Cola ORC 4 classes, Martin Miller J80 and Rías Baixas Figaro. The Storax ORC 1-2 and PSA Retail ORC 3 classes rest and return to the competition on Wednesday, festive on July 25, when the regatta committee will bring together the entire fleet in the Fondadeadero of the Cis Islands to contest the last two trophies, two barlovento sotavento tours that will sentence the forty-third edition of the historic competition of Mount Real Club of Yates.

At 11: 00 in the morning of Saturday, the Conde de Gondomar Trophy begins in Baiona Bay in its four-year edition, organized by the Monte Real Club de Yates de Baiona, and sponsored by the Banco de Sabadell. In front of the almost 100 miles (up and down to Finisterre's inlet, the legendary Regata Jesús Valverde), which in the last edition were covered in 15-15-00, by the "Oils Abril" of the Pérez Canal brothers, who in the end would be the absolute winners with the grympola of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo, which they have already achieved three times: 2013-2016-2017.
The "Oils Abril" will again be one of the favorites, as will the Farr 39 of José Luis Freire, the "Pairo 8," which is also one of the regatists of the "Pairito J70" will take on board the great master of the heavy sail in our waters: the Malaguean Laueano Wizner, champion and father of champion. Other ships that will be in the height race par excellence will be "Unus" of Luis García Trigo, of Monte Real; and the "Balea Dous" of Luis Pérez, of the Royal Nautical Club of Rodeira; they will try to repeat triumph in their respective classes, as will the "Okofen" of Javier de la Gandara, who will fight to maintain the first of the J80 monotypes.
Among the 30 participating boats will also be, led by Francisco Gude, the "Siradella," of the Real Club Nautico de Portosín, the current Spanish Champion of Altura de la Zona Galicia. 17 / 07 / 2018: The Regata Jesus Valverde, to the Carrumeiro opens the 43 Count of Gondomar

The facilities of the Baionese club welcomed this noon the presentation of the one considered by many as the race of height par excellence in Galicia and which is also one of the longest of the Spanish nautical landscape, since it has been held without interruption since 1976
The four-third edition of the Count of Gondomar Trophy, sponsored by the Bank of Sabadell, was officially presented at the Mount Real Club de Yates, in the waters of the Rías Baixas Gallegos, from 21 to 25 July.
As tradition marks, the rise to Carrumeiro Chico, from Baiona Bay to Corcubion Ria, will mark the beginning of the Count of Gondomar. A tour near the 100 miles that is again, one more year, Spanish Championship of Altura of the Galicia Zone. It will be held on Saturday 21 from 11: 00 in the morning.
At the same time, you will be able to leave, also from Baiona Bay, at a less distance test, reserved for smaller ships. In this case, the turning point to return to Baiona will be located in the Camouco lighthouse, in the area of the island of Ons.
The Sunday 22 July menu will be a 20-mile crossing race in which only ORC's 4 and Open, J80s and Fibarians will participate, while the carrumeiro crews, who will have completed the early morning test, will be able to rest.
And for the last day, the festive of July 25, the regatta committee has prepared two barlovento sotavento tours in the fondadero of the Cí Islands. From 12 noon, the adrenaline of the cane will begin to put the point and end to a competition that will crown its winners that same afternoon, at 5.
In Galicia alone there are three more ancient races than the "Conde": Rías Baixas, Trofeo Finisterre and Rías Altas... created in 1976 as president of the Royal Mount, the unforgettable Rafael Olmedo, comedio Rafael Lorenzo and sailing delegate Humberto Cervera, was designed as a "Rías Medias Regata..." that is not to say no high, half-sized Nin dances!... so Humberto Cervera "Piruchi" sent his ships to Muros, to the beautiful era of Muros and Noia. This was the planning 1976-1979, until in 1980 Fernando García Tobío had the happy idea of making a long one between Baiona-Póvoa do Varzimo-Baiona 100 miles... and coincided with the worst nortada of many years... That's why the following year was chosen for the Chico Carrumeiro, which is still in the planning today, but a much more ligth... From that glorious time there is not even Coca Cola, who was for many years the main sponsor... who had the bemoles to buy a silver tray that came to weigh 5 Kg!... but asked Alfonso Paz Andrade, who with Fernando Massó, Miguel Lago, Fernando Escalera and Julio G. Babé won several... It's a race I organized between the 5th and the 25th editions, and I think it's an unforgivable desiste, for whom it should not continue calling the long race: THE JESUS VALVERDE REGATE, which with the permission of Don Rafael Olmedo has been the most important character in the history of the Baiona Yacht Club...
