Andy Criere en Open, Garazi Sánchez en Feminino, Eric Rebiere en Master, César Arenal en Kneeboard, Aitor Francesena (Invidients), Cristian Alonso (Prone) and Lucas Ojanguren (Assisted) are the new Spanish Champions of Surfing
The final day of the Spanish Surfing Championship 2018 presented by Lotteries, held on the beach of A Frouxeira in Valdoviño, crowned the new Spanish champions. A stormy day in terms of meteorology but which in turn left us waves of excellent quality throughout the day.
The Open category had the competition pending from the final octaves. The squares in the qualifying rounds required a sum of more than 14 points to access the final.
In this battle, the most prominent surfers had to be squeezed to the maximum to contest the national title. The Basque Andy Criere (18.74 ptos) with a combination of two excellent waves won the victory ahead of the Brazilian Hispanic Vicente Romero (14.34 ptos) and the Basque Iker Amatriaín (12.77 ptos) and Ruben Vitoria (11.70 ptos) that ended in third and fourth positions respectively.
A lot of excitement was experienced in the female finale where Garazi Sánchez (13.17 sts), with a great surfing throughout the day, managed to beat Leticia Canales (11.83 sts) who returned to the Spanish championship in a great shape state. Melania Suárez (9.00 ptos) and Nadia Erostarbe (6.77 ptos), very strong during the two days of competition, completed the final.
The most veterans continue to show that the surfing does not understand ages, shows that it was to see the elimination of master's degree where, the Brazilian Hispanic, Eric Rebiere (14.74 sts) revalidated his title in a hard struggle with the Cantabros Pablo Solar (10.67 sts) and Dani García (10.24 sts) showing a very solid surfing throughout the day.
In kneeboard, it was Caesar Arenal (12.26 sts) who took the national title in a 100% canteen final. Alberto González with 9.33 points got the second square, Alfonso Rodríguez the third and Óscar García the fourth in an exciting final.
