Rico Tabares achieved his fifth J80 World Cup

Rayco Tabares and his team on board the "Hotel Princesa Yaiza" make a new history in the international sailing as they rise with their fifth world title, in a category as competitive as that of the J80, and mark new world record.

The J80 Red has been composed by five ships: "Hotel Princesa Yaiza" of Tabares, "Garatu" of Almandoz, "Puente Romano-Marbella Team" of Paez, "IBO.ES" of Chacartegui and "J80Worlds2019Gúd" of Trueba.

If the "Hotel Princesa Yaiza" of Rayco Tabares was made with the absolute world and "Puente Roman- Marbella Team" of Juan Luís Páez in Corinthian, there were still more joys: the second step of the podium in absolute category fell into the hands of the team "Garatu" of Iker Almandoz.

Special mention deserves the "Ibo.es" ballboat of Chacartegui who, despite being a leader for several days and suffering two disqualifications that have taken him away from the main positions, has recovered posts until the fifth. After eight races, the Basque J80 that Iker Almandoz commands collects its reward after the hard training program of recent years and is done with the provisional leadership. The "Garatu" becomes a leader after having scored two first and two third positions as best partial in the championship.

The quadruple world champion Rayco Tabares goes up on the day to the second position. The third step of the provisional podium has Andalusian flavor with the "Puente Romano-Marbella Team." Classification after 9 contested races:

06 / 07 / 2018: The World Cup of J80 with five Spanish ships begins in Galas

El equipo de Rayco Tabares “Hotel Princesa Yaiza”, con un impresionante palmares que incluye cuatro títulos mundiales de J80, parte como máximo favorito

The Rayco Tabares team "Hotel Princesa Yaiza," with an impressive palms that includes four J80 world titles, top favorite part

74 J80 monotypes will be held from 7 to 13 July in the French town of Sables D'Olonne, the J80 World Championship with representation from nine countries (France, Great Britain, Ireland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Russia and Oman). The Spanish squadron is at the top of the bets and will be represented by "Hotel Princesa Yaiza" by Rayco Tabares, "Puente Romano-Marbella Team" by Pepequín Orbaneja, "IBO.ES" by Javier Chacártegui, "Garatu" by Iñigo Jauregui and "RCMA-RSC" by Tomas Trueba.

The French fleet, with more than half of the list of registered ones representing the country's colors, has already made it clear that with Spain the most favorite and its intention at all costs is to recover a world scepter in Spanish hands of Rayco Tabares for years. A sports rivalry that comes from behind.

Tabares, has the friolera of four world titles of J80 (three of them achieved consecutively: 2015 in Kiel, 2016 in Sotogrande and 2017 in Southampton, in addition to the 2009 world in Santander) with its team "Hotel Princesa Yaiza." The bartender will try to rematch the record of world titles with his usual team: Alfredo González, Alejandro Bethencourt, Lai Ley and Hector González.

Another of the Spanish teams that I will try to revality title in Corinthian category, is the "IBO.ES" by Javier Chacártegui & # 8211world champion Corinthian 2017-. The Chacártegui were fifth in the absolute classification of the world past.

Another great favorite that will not let down and that already in 2017 was placed in the Top 7 world is the Andalusian team "Puente Romano-Marbella Team," armed by Pepequín Orbaneja and that on this occasion again entrusts the helm to one of the pillars of the team, Juan Luís Páez.

Two teams have moved from the Basque Country: "Garatu" by Iñigo Jáuregui and "RCMA-RSC" by Tomas Trueba, the latter representing the Abra maritime club that will be collected by the witness of Sables D'Olonne as the headquarters of the world next year.
